Hi girls,
I am 5'9 and slender as some of you have pointed out by looking at my pictures. I was wondering are heels ok for someone who is already this tall? I really love high heels as well as platforms, but i am afraid they will make me too tall! Any thoughts on the situation?

Kisses,
Delighla

Honey I am 6' in stockings. I always wear heels.. For outings 3" or less for home up to 5" (more than 5" I start bumping into doorways). Your attitude has more to do with passing than height. If you like the heels go for it.

Are you kidding ? No self respecting CD would be caught dead without several pairs (or more) in her closet (or other).

how tall of heel could i possibly get away with in public???

Well, I'm 5'8" and I don't plan on limiting myself in any way in that respect. Once I can mail order and not have someone other than me recieve the package, I plan on going all the way to 8 1/2." Obviously for casual public outings, 8 1/2" is out of the question, so I'd recommend anything from 3"=5", depending on how much attention you want and how good you are at walking in them. :)

Make a walk through a mall, see if you can find 10 GGs about your size.
If 2 of them wear 5 inch heels than you might not stand out.
Just a rule of thumb.

It really boils down to taste more than anything else. The rule of thumb, which can be broken of course, is that no more than a 3" heel for a tall girl. I like 2 1/2 to 3" myself since I already stand 6' 4" in my stockings.

Flats are great if you plan of doing a lot of walking, over 3" are great for around the house, or parties.

But don't forget, like GG's we too can suffer problems with leg muscles and in the toes from wearing heels that are too tall for too long.

But like I said in the begining, it really boils down to a matter of taste more than anything else.

If you want to be looked at .. by all means wear 5"

If you want the world to pass you by and just meld with the surroundings - then dress appropriately for the surroundings.

5" in a club is fine (if VERY painful)

5" in the street is saying HEY .. LOOK AT ME ... A GEEZER IN A DRESS!! ROLL UP ROLL UP" !!!

No offence, but come on lets have some reality!! A GG in 5" heels would get a lot of attention.

You and I in 5"" will get so looked at!

Up to you .. what do you want ... attention or not?

It it is out for a formal or gala evening, then 5" is not out of the question. If out shopping and such, then 2"-3". I'm 5'9" and if i wore 5" heels while out shopping, I would get noticed, where as my 2-3" heels, no one notices.

At 5'11" I would not attempt any more than 2,1/2 inches. Even 2 inches is enough to say "hey, look I am a girl!" its the posture thats important

My taste doesn't run toward the longer heels, I'm happy as can be in the 2 inch flavor. That said, seems t'me a CD without heels is like a day without sunshine :)

My lady delighla,
For the feel of it and only the feel of it, anything goes, if you can manage them.
For the street 3" is plenty. Its like the bust D is usually plenty J is more but then well....I suppose it is what you can manage on whatever the occassion is.

I'm 6'2 and my favorite heels are five inches! Would I wear them to the mall? I don't think so but around the house and in the bedroom you can't beat a good pair of HIGH heels.

Delighla,

Heels are OK for anyone that wants to wear them and feels comfortable doing so.

The highest heel I've ever seen on a shoe intended for a "fashionista GG" is 120 mm (4 3/4 inch) Christian Louboutin stiletto. I think the highest Manolo goes is 4 inches which seems to be the highest the others goo too, (Jimmy Choo, Stuart Weitzman, Charles David etc) Several GG's in alt.fashion have reported wearing 4 inch heels

But....can you handle them. :-)

I am 5'9". I have no problems wearing heels when out. Heels will bring attention whether on a gg or a cd when out and about. I have learned that when I go shopping, I wear my 3" or 3-1/2" heels, but I wear them with a dressy pair of pants or with jeans. For some reason, this does not draw the attention that wearing heels with a skirt or dress would do. I reserve the skirt or dress with heels for going out to dinner, to a concert, the theater, or to a club. I have gg friends who are my height who wear 3-1/2" heels and think nothing of it. So, I've learned not to worry about my height.

That's not exactly what I was asking. :-) A 4 inch heel says something, it makes a statement whether it's worn with jeans or a tailored suit, it's a fashionista shoe. It gets attention. And if you're going to make that kind of statement, don't do it in some cheap vinyl shoe from the "stripper/ho shoe store", do it right. :-)

Do you have the fabulosity, the fashionista attitude, the "sheer chutzpah to wear such impractical shoes" for shoes like these?

I am 5'10" and I am comfortable in 3"-4" heels. Tall GGs like Nicole Kidman wear their height and their heels proudly.

For me, the question isn't High heels or no high heels? the question is How high should my heels be? I am 5' 10" and I prefer 3" heels for a dressy look and 2" heeled sandals for a more casual look.

Leggy Ashley
04-03-2006, 09:53 PM

Lawren

No, I have never had heels over 3". I don't think I could walk in them if I did.

Don't worry about it Hon---I'm 5'11" and love to wear heels---have a pair of platforms with 6" among other shoes--I don't wear them to the local shopping mall or for every day use but for fetish night at the local bar(or entertaining at home) they make Me feel and look like the dominant Goddess I am--lol

I'm 6' also. I try to stay under 3" heels. Although I do have a few up to 4". I think 6'3" is really pushing it for a girl. BUT! I wouldn't mind having a 6' g/f.
