As life returns to a more even keel the SO has started to go out to her exercise classes. Those and an afternoon spent at her mother?s last week gave me some home alone time. Having the house to myself gave me time to dress not only in a skirt and top but also forms, heels and a wig.

I must point out that in truth I get to wear a skirt, top, bra and forms most days for a couple of hours while I mill around downstairs while my SO sits in bed, knitting, listening to the radio, resting her bad back and other ailments. What I can?t do is go the extra distance and add heels, a wig and have the freedom of the entire house. The real difference is I have the freedom of the house. A chance to walk in heels and feel that little bit more femme, thinking about times passed when I'd be mixing with the muggles enfemme.

The afternoon home alone also gave me the opportunity to wash a few dresses, tops and skirts as well as a load of bras and knickers. The underwear I usually end up hand washing a few oddments at a time so the chance to give them a good machine wash was a welcome change. The downside was a couple of dresses were non-tumble dry but I risked a few minutes on a cool setting before hanging them in front of a 12? desk fan turned up full to create an artificial breeze, which I will add, worked surprisingly well in drying said dresses.

Now this isn?t earth shattering stuff I know but times like this give me an empathy with just how good it is to be able to grab these moments. When I read of others who perhaps go months, sometimes years without a chance to dress then I truly feel for them and understand what a time of joy it can be however short lived.

Looking forward it seems I?ll get another afternoon with the house to myself for a few hours and I?ll relish that time. The downside will be it increases the desire to put heels to pavement and get out and about which as yet still seems a way off. Still, I?ll gratefully take these opportunities, making the most of what?s on offer which is all so many of us can do.

Your post reminds me of my old DADT days living with my adult daughter, Helen.

And, how fortunate I am to live alone now! I never even have to put things away rite after dressing like I used to. Now, I have Sherry stuff and new dressing projects strewn all over the house!:heehee:
