Fashion Question- White Stockings

I love white stockings/tights. Someday I'll leave this comfy closet and will want to wear them out there. Opinions? Others who like white?

I like white stockings when worn with the appropriate outfit (something white or very light.. like a floral dress.. light pinks, purples, blues). the contrast of dark vs white never seem to go together.

"Nurse white" hose should only be worn by nurses. And even they don't wear them anymore because they all wear the comfy practical scrubs.

You can also wear very sheer white/ivory hose if you're wearing a bridal gown.

Same goes for very sheer white/ivory/cream hose with a pastel/light colored dress on Easter sunday

Otherwise, avoid, they are universally unflattering, they make your legs look wider.

In general i try to stay away from everything white. It's such a pain to keep it clean and new looking in my opinion.

Since I never go out of the house fully en femme, I wear whatever suits my fancy, and sometimes white stockings are just the ticket :) Since I'm not dealing with the general public, my take on the fashion commandments is that as a biological male in these clothes, I've already broken the most basic one, so what the heck!

I do understand that for those of you who go out in public, the fashion do's and don'ts have a different importance than they have for me.

Pure white hose is listed as a fashion no-no in most areas. The recommendation is to wear off-white, bone, ivory, etc. It gives the same effect, but does not have the glare of pure white.

I'm with Veronica and Paula. They don't really look very flattering on me. I have lots of white hose, but also a few uniform dresses, nurse shoes, keds, and pastel outfits to wear them with. I think Yellow is an even worse color for hose.

White hose seem to be plentiful at church sales and thrift stores. White hose, if bought very cheaply, could be dyed without much trouble at all...

I like ivory or off-white pantyhose with red, white or pink outfits and shoes. I avoid white hoseiry with black shoes and outfits because it seems kinda "little girlish" to me.
