hey girls and to the whoms it may concern, i have a suggestion why not have a ?beauty contest of sorts, only those who wanted could enter, there could be a ton of categories, all the way from most beautiful, best smile, best legs, best bum lol, miss plus size, miss petite, most sexy, most feminine, most natural etc.etc., its just an idea, and i probably wouldnt even qualify for any, but i do know there are many really pretty cds here and id personally think it would be fun, it may seem like a chaveunistic (did i spell that right) thing to do , but i personally dont think so, anyway just a thought, im a muse not an organizer though so, someone here who is very organized and likes this sort of thing could organize it, one suggestion is that it would be neat to have lots of categories, so that lots could be involved or included and also it would be a neat buildup sort of thing over a week period or so , and the most beautiful could be elected on a friday and posted on a monday, or something, maybe its dumb i dont know, its just an idea, what do you girls and powers that be think, suz:p  ;)

I say no because it was done in the past and was a disaster, resulting in bad and hurt feelings.

I concur with Sharon. I don't think this site is about competing with each other in that respect. Just my 0.02.
That says it all for me too! Maybe a favorite shoe contest!

I dont think this is a good idea.
We all know that some girls are beautiful, others are beautiful in their own way.
There is no need to have a competition.
We should all appreicate that everyone here has different qualities.
Every girl has to be herself.

One question. How did Rena quote Christine, when Rena's post came before Christine's?,,,,,,,Weird, like Rena has ESP or something, she knew what Christine was going to say.
Since this latest server change, a lot of posts are getting stacked in the wrong order. I'm also getting randomly bumped even when I was active a minute before, in such a way that I have to log back in.
Of course, where I live among the marshes, we're used to bugs :cheeky:

I agree also with the negative view of a beauty contest. Really seems silly what with beautiful wigs, silicone breasts, laced-up tight corsets, & tucked gaffs. What is left that's real to compare?

It all depends?? What kind of prizes are you offering? lol
Not a good idea, too many hurt feelings and this site is for helping each other, not competing, even if it's just for fun.

Not a good idea. This has come up before even in my one month time in the forum. Have yet to see a favorable response:thumbsdn: A lot of us are just coming into contact with other CDs through this site and getting comfortable. Why generate bad feelings? There are some real Lookers here, but that is the random chance of birth- some are Femmy on the Outside, but we're all that way on the Inside!

Nope, not a good idea, could knock someones confidence if someone else makes a hurtful remark or if praise is unevenly spread, some people can pass easily while others myself included need a dark night and a good distance between them and the observer. With the artificial aids we use the contest could come down to who can spend the most money.

Voted "no" - not because I think the idea is dumb but because it's inconsistent with the general values of this web site. This site is invaluable for self-acceptance, beauty hints, friendship, etc. It's not a meat market and it's not a "hot or not" venue. The web is positively loaded with websites dedicated to seeing how HOT a CD can make herself.
I take my appearance as a woman seriously, because I am a competitive girl at heart. But that competition is self-directed ONLY! I want to make myself as pretty as I can be - and NOT NOT NOT relative to any other girls. The CDs on this web site, whether beautiful, passable, arguably passable or otherwise, have all found the courage to show their self expression. The joy that comes from that liberation - which shows on so many excited faces in pics here - is truly beautiful. But not exactly susceptible of judgment in a beauty contest.
Just my 0.02 .

By what standards? By mainstream female beauty contest ones, in other words, how well we pass? I know I'd get the booby prize in every category except perhaps legs well covered by opaque black hose.

maybe beauty contest isn't the right thing to do, but what about most creative costume for halloween? it would involve a "female" costume of course, but "beauty" wouldn't necessarily win, creativity would.

To be fair to all the girls there would have to be so many catergories that even the Feds could not manage the contest. They did do to well with a couple of girls named Katrina and Rita.

No, it's a bad idea. Things like beauty contests only stir up negative feelings in the people who don't win towards both themselves and those who did win.
Strip it down to its heart and you'll see such a contest for what it really is, a "who's better than everyone else" contest.

well, i got quite a response from this evidently at least to most "hairbrain idea" although to me it was just that an idea and not meant to hurr anyone but as far being wordly enough or for lack of a better term "wise" enough to know at the time that everyone who had a rock would climb out from underneath it to let me know just how dumb an idea it was ! honestly people i come in peace!lololol geeezzzzz us! , anyway i should have had much more forthought than to almost throw blood into the water ,, and yes ive seen it on other post from this forum , and some responses to other things * i posted an avatar once of a well known movie star and was told that they just didnt believe that was my real picture and if they had only looked closer or read the post directly before they would have known that) anyway you girls are right, i could see how someone could get there feelings hurt, it almost hurt that someone stressed the word dumb on a reply to mine, but then i had to consider the source! i decided not to pm that person, and send it right back the way it came girl!!!! anyway i do see the light seriously and i apologize for the inconvenience , that it caused, if i lowered the standards of this forum i say (as steve martin so elequently put it" WELL EXCUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUSE ME! now thats funny! i really do luv you gurls, sincerely suzanne
by the way someone also i think accused someone of something im just to dingy to understand what, i think there quote was "im amazed that there were 22 responses yes and no one has replied to the thread* or something to that nature, i responded yes one time, im sure there is someone here who would be nice enough to confirm that, mmmmmmmmmmmmeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeoooooooowwwwwwwwwww, lol, suz

the idea of competion and contest undercurrent so many threads here, yet once the "words" are called out so does the hypocrisy.
what is the breast size thread if not a contest and an obvious one at that, which many had no problem "competing."
i say lets face some truths here -- contests do no have to be synonymous to hurt feelings.

There are some of you that look so absolutely dropdead gorgeous when dressed that I would want to make you my girlfriend ( tee hee hee )
I'd be willing to give up my cross dressing for you and be your man.
Or else we could take turns cross dressing,
Or else we could cross dress together,
Or what ever you wanted to do.;)

The breast thread was not a contest, no one was competing with each other, there were no votes on who had the best breasts, it was in no way a contest.
The breast thread was no different than a thread on nails, or shoes or legs, eyebrows, wigs, etc. Maybe the breast thread wasn't for you or part of your CDing life-style but for others the breast thread was part of their Tg life style.
There are different aspects to CDing and being transgendered and the breast thread was part of that for some here at the forum. If this aspect of CDing upsets you, then that's too bad, for some of us that thread is part of our Cding experience.

i think you were all right, feelings do get hurt around here very easily, and i mean everyones, i think alot of the people who replied may have some past hurt feelings that tend to surface on this forum and some could be due to issues discussed here, i am amazed though that i had a thread in which i asked for help and i got 32 views and not one person helped me, it took me begging for help and then only a handful if that , actually wrote anything back at all, but i put the word contest and evidently it struck a serious nerve, by the way the post was called human hair, and all i wanted to know was how to care for it, i found out on my own though, i will probably never post a thread again as everytime i have it seems something is either wrong with it or something just isnt interesting, i really am not here though to please anyone although ive met several nice girls, goodbye , have a nice forum, suz

It's fun to have a beauty contest. It's so feminine. It also may allow us to take a look at ourselves and understand more completely what we are about. Although I find myself to be very masculine in my features, I cannot even enjoy dressing unless I try to look somewhat sexy and feminine. ally

We have all had threads that have received little or no replies. I remember when I was new here, I posted a long thread, had some 200 views, but no replies at all! Was I disappointed? Sure I was! Was I just gonna leave the forum, all mad and all? I didn't know - but this is when you make a decision.
You can just whine and slink off, all pissed off - or just take a deep breath and keep posting away until eventually you have thousands of posts and are a well-known member here.
We would hate to lose you, but please remember - there are a myriad of reasons why someone might not reply to your thread, it could be as simple as the time of day that it was posted, or members who had particular knowledge to help you were not on the forum that day, or just happened to miss your thread - sometimes it happens......
Anyway, it is your decision as to what you do - but my advice is to keep trying, and don't get so discouraged or defensive when someone posts an opinion different from your own.

I think if there were a contest that had something we could all get out of it - like ideas we could "take away" from it to use later - THAT might be worthwhile. For instance, in the picture galleries, I've seen a lot of posts asking "How did you make that cleavage?" If there were a contest to see who could do that the best, and you had to send in a description of your method along with your pics, then we'd all be able to try those ideas ourselves. Maybe one of the rules could be that you'd have to send in "before" and "after" pics in the same outfit. That way, it'd be a lot harder to send in GG pics and say it's us!:D
Even easier than that, what about a contest for who's got the best answer if they're shopping in drab for sexy nighties and the sales associate asks "What size does she wear?" There are some fun answers for that, which, again, would be a way to gather ideas we could all use ourselves later if we wanted to.

I like the sound of those contests, I've come across so many tips here I hadn't even thought about, or would ever think about, lol. I especially like the idea of the "on-the-fly" reasons why you're buying what you're buying =)

I don`t think a beauty contest would be a good idea here but if anyone would like to try, have a look at the Snap Shot Conest at Castle Supply. It is open to CDs, Tv`s Ts and drag queens and is quite respectable. You can enter one pic only every second month and if you win, you cannot enter again for a year. The prize is a V string female prosthesis.
I have entered about three times over the last couple of years but alas, never won. It is great fun just to be involved and the winners are always very deserving.

And as long as it was done in a positive fashion I dont see how someone being nominated the Prettiest CD whould hurt others.

Hi All,
I am in favor of this idea and would help make it happen. However, I feel that there has to be some sort of categories, not just one general one. This could be by age, type of clothing, or things like little girl, drag queen, fetish, ect...

I have said in a previous post that I felt this would be a bad idea, then again I also feel that there are a lot of other threads that weren't good ideas either. Sussane, because people might not like the idea of a contest doesn't mean that you shouldn 't be allowed to have a contest thread, although I don't know what the forums rules of the forum say about contests. Make a thread about some kind of contest(if the forum allows contests) and the people who want to join in can, and those that don't like contests can stay away from the thread, pretty simple.
The reason that I said it was a bad idea is because you asked us what we thought of the idea.

I think that for the folks that don't get a chance to get out when en femme it might be kind of fun.
So for that reason I voted Yes.
However, this site is not the right place for such a thing.
I'd be happy to help set up another site just for these kinds of contests.
Lady-B-Wear, a great bbw and TV clothing site used to run monthly and yearly contests for discounts but I think they have given up on them.

Maybe instead of competing with each other we could have a look alike contest.
Best Mae West, Elvira, Betty Page, etc. look alike.
This way we are not competing against each other to meet some vaguely defined version of "beauty".

i think this is a great idea, and i see as time passed there were more supporters than originally thought! when i posted this it was really good natured on my part and im sorry if i ruffled any feathers, some of the ones who didnt care to have the contest are really pretty, and all of them could be with a little work and time, i think thats part of the fun of it, i like the getting ready as much as the final product myself, and thats the part i think would be fun, if we had a reason (have you ever heard the phrase"all dressed up and no place to go"!) i think alot of us are that way, as someone stated in a reply, i have been out, but i dont get to much, anyway i am waiting for more positive responses, then well see, suzanne:p

Hey Suzanne, will you be competing in any of the contests? Just Curious.
I am not against contests, I am on other sites that have contests and they go pretty well, but this forum is kinda different. People here get hurt easier, there are more fragile emotions on a forum like this one. I guess it's part of being a CD. Try it, make a contest and go for it.
