Hi Everyone,
I have just completed a great day and wanted to share my experience.
The Sigma Mu chapter (Fayetteville, AR) of Tri-Ess scheduled their April meeting in Tulsa, OK on Saturday, April 8, close enough for me to drive up and back and not arouse much suspicion from my wife.
I emailed their contact and arranged to meet at a restaurant for lunch. Being Saturday, everyone would be home, so I packed my things in my minivan on Friday when no one was home. I woke early Saturday morning showered and shaved and said my good-byes and started the drive to Tulsa.
I stopped at a rest stop on the highway, changed into some girly clothes (was already wearing girly jeans and shoes), did my make-up, added some jewelry and was on my way. Construction and traffic caused me to be a bit late for lunch, but when I finally arrived, everyone was so accepting and sweet. There were several girls there and a couple of spouses. I had a great time with great food and even better conversation.
After lunch we went to a "resale shop" and browsed for a while, some girls tried on somethings, but I didn't buy anything - already have way too much for someone who is in the closet at home. After the "resale shop" we went to a Payless Shoes that stocks an amazing variety of large shoes in sizes 11-13 both medium and wide. Tried on several pair of shoes, as did other girls. I finally decided on a pair of white flat sandals.
After this we split up for a few hours and were meeting at one of the girl's home for dinner. Left to my own, I visited Wal Mart, the mecca of middle class America shopping. Browsed awhile and bought some Cover Girl Makeup.
Next a trip to Best Buy to check out some small flat panel, wide screen TV's. No - not for me, my oldest is graduating high school in May and we're shopping for one for his gift. Didn't buy one, but got some good information. Clerks at both stores either were very polite or didn't read me. It was a good day for me as far as dressing goes. One of the sisters I met at lunch actually thought I was the wife of one of the other "sisters," lol - made my day, when she told me. :)
Changed clothes from jeans and top to a green peasant skirt and rose print cream v-neck tunic and my new sandals. CDing certainly enables some unique clothes changing talents and skills.. Touched up my makeup and arrived at the host's home.
A lovely dinner included Roast Chicken, Grilled Salmon, a corn casserole, beans, potato salad, Pineapple Upside Down Cake AND Chocolate Cake. Scrumptious meal. Met a few more sisters and another spouse, enjoyed great conversation and had one of the finest days in my life!
Drove home, stopping to fill up with gas and get a Diet Coke. I kept my speech friendly, but to a minimum and the young lady behind the counter didn't give me a second glance. Woo Hoo!
Stopped near home, changed back into boy clothes and removed all my makeup. eeewwwww I make a better looking girl than I do a guy, at least in my opinion.
It was a great day, only wish there regular meetings were closer, so I could attend a bit more frequently. Anyway, I am on Cloud 9 and wanted to share. I know this was an extremely long post and if you read this far thank you.
Love, Jenna
