An Ode to The Pink Fog

It arrives without warning
Not with icy fingers but with warm caress
It does not drift in, it billows everywhere at once
Enveloping you in its grip

Resistance is futile
You succumb without a whimper
It is your mistress
Your fate is sealed

Rational thought eludes you
Your frenzy grows
Must make a shopping list
Must go online
Must go to the mall
Must?must?must?

And now you act as you knew you would
Assuaging your fever
A new bra?a pair of nylons?four- inch stilettos
The only therapeutics that part the mist

And as you luxuriate in your newfound acquisitions
It changes character
Now it is not domineering
It is a cocoon of fulfilment, comfort, and reassurance
You are Woman and you are strong

Its unspoken voice bids adieu

So true - and for me so timely! I just got done on Amazon minutes ago spending big $ to relieve the fog that has been building up for days. Nylons and stilettos were even among the items I ordered!I hope you can add this to the writers section...EVERYONE can relate and should see it - Well done!
