I got a unique situation! The wife and I were sitting here having pizza and a few drinks. She said, "I don't have a problem with you dressing as a girl, but I feel funny being with you out in public. I wish they had wigs for guys. So I could go with you and not be reconized." The probablem is she has shoulder lenght hair. Any ideas? I asked her if she would be willing to strap and stuff, she said I don't know.
I think she is afraid someone would reconizer her and figure out it was me with her.

You do have a unique situation indeed, wish I had your problem. My wife has fairly short and thin hair for a woman, would not be a problem for her. Hope you find something that works.

There are some wives of CDs that I know that will wear wigs and alter their makeup a bit to look different when they go out with their dressed husbands. Long hair can be pinned up and a short wig style in a different hair color worn over it. There's no need for your wife to look masculine. She just needs to look different to avoid recognition.

Thanks a bunch for the idae and support. I'm very glad she is supportive of my dressing. I'm not a very good lyier, so I'm glad I don't have too. I've always said the truth is the best way to go, because I've never been good at keeping my story straight. So if I stick to the truth, I don't have trouble...BJ

Hi Billijo,
At several of the CD socials that my spouse Angel and I have attended, other wives have told me that they wished they could be "in disguise" like their husbands. I've heard plenty of wives jokingly threaten to show up wearing a clown nose or Groucho Marx glasses. :p
Is she serious about wanting to go out with you en homme? Or is she perhaps saying it just to illustrate her point about feeling exposed when out as her regular self?
I think going out as a guy would be a hoot, but with my height, shape, facial features, and voice, I could never pass as male in a million years. I would just look like a chick with a mustache and a big fake bulge in her pants! If your wife really thinks she could pull it off, then maybe you ought to try it. Yes, there are male wigs, and shoulder length hair can be tucked underneath with the judicious use of pins and a wig cap.
I think I remember from some of your previous posts that you live in a town where everyone knows you. Would it be possible to go out of town for a weekend once in a while, instead of resorting to disguises?
Keep us posted honey. Your wife sounds like one cool lady.

I would suggest the disguise as another woman maybe. She could wear a wig, and yes there are shorter wigs and male wigs. My wife went with me once, but only once and it was for a halloween party, so that may not count. Her costume was a 'biker' and what she did with her long hair was braided it in a pony tail, and then wore a ball cap. Matched that with a leather jacket, and she probably could have passed as a guy even with her figure. ;) (if you know what I mean)
But she might feel better, especially any other time by putting on a wig herself..maybe a different color with a different clothing style than she usually wears.
Well, good luck.

A few years ago, my wife and I went on a Tri-Ess chapter shopping trip. After the shopping, we went to brunch with two other chapter members who were en homme by then. As we were being seated, my wife saw an old family friend (who is a Baptist minister, although without a congregation) and went over to chat with him. When I saw him a few months later, nothing was said, although I must have been read, and he was close enough to see everyone at our table.
My wife's attitude is "I'm not ashamed of you, if it bothers anyone else, f&%* 'em."

Billijo,
Why not get a ladies wig, a long one, totally different style, and a coat that she's never worn before, maybe a long one from a charity shop, or one of yours even. She'd not be recognised then. Ive got lots of wigs that I use for my dressing service and to be quite honest, no one would recognise me in one of them. Whats wrong with two ladies out for a walk.
Just a suggestion.

I'd take Her to another town for weekends away once a month if She'd do it.
That would allow you to both go out together places where no one will know Her.
Myself I'd like be beside myself if my Wife would go out to dinner with me anyplace while I'm dressed. Wow, maybe someday.

A very interesting question, closely related to the idea that when a CD comes out to his wife, he drags her into the closet with him (pardon my pronouns).
I think she's inviting you to encourage her to spend on a wig, and I would be happy to light a fire under that idea :)

Hi Billijo,
We do like Haley Pink suggested and take a short drive to a town about a 1 hour drive from home, get a room, get fixed up then meet friends at some close by Cd friendly places.
My wife was a bit nervous the first time at a resturant with me and about 10 other cd friends, but she relaxed soon after a few cocktails :)and we both enjoyed watching the drag shows later at a nearby club.
Its sort of hard to "blend" when you have a large group like that, but going to CD friendly places sure helps.
We are normaly stay at home old folks LOL so no chance of either of us being recognised so far away.
Needless to say, time flys when having fun, so 4 am comes fast and a nearby room to rest a few hours and get changed works out well before heading home.
Good luck and have fun !

I have been out with my Dannielle to gay clubs, triess events and to a regular resturant with a group of people from triess and the cclc. I was totally comfortable in the gay club and the triess event but very uncomfortable in the regular resturant and it was in a large city 4 hours from our home. Nobody was rude to us but I picked up on the staring and I guess I did not like that much. Driving around is another way that we have been together. Take a drive to a lake after dark. Usually there are not any people walking around they are usually in the campgrounds. Walking along, holding hands and looking at the stars................. very romantic! Try making out in the bathhouse :D :D What a thrill. Kitty

There are several things your wife could do, If she really wants to pretend to be a man, she could get a short hair wig and have it cut in amans hairstyle. I did that in the early 70's when I was in the National Guard. It worked fine. It was hot in the summer though.
She could also get a long hair wig in a ndiffernet style and or color and dress as a flamboyant woman.
You both could have a lot of fun either way.

"...I feel funny being with you out in public. I wish they had wigs for guys. So I could go with you and not be reconized."
I think she is afraid someone would reconizer her and figure out it was me with her.
I have only one word to respond to that with: HARSH!
:(
She needs to come to the conclusion that any hateful opinions strangers may have are pretty much irrelevant.
