I am clearly becoming more comfortable showing my feminine side in public. I went to the gym yesterday with my nails painted a nice deep red. Going out shopping today; no makeup just denim leggings and flats. I'm still considering going to work tomorrow with my nails.

Hi Angela, Yes no doubt you are becoming more comfortable showing your feminine side. Good luck on going to work with your nails, I feel your confidence will overcome any possible negative comments. Good luck and let us know how you do today and tomorrow.

Angela,

Go for it! Red is always good.

Mine are one coat bubble bath and gel!

Hardly shows except shine.

Let us know feedback.

Angela, seems as though you are taking emergence at a pace comfortable to you. I am curious if you foresee a point at work or elsewhere in your life when you might just as well declare yourself as transgender?

Well I think the chances of me going to work with my nails is only about 20%. But the fact that I am even considering it is, I believe, a big step.

I use a slightly pink polish. It almost doesn't show unless you really look. If you want more color add on more coats.

Agreed! As open as you are becoming, have you had any encounters with co-workers in your more feminine presentation?

Seems like that is almost inevitable. I think a good thing too ;)

No not yet. I don't really fraternize with them. But if it happens it happens. I think if I do, either tomorrow or eventually, show up with my painted nails they will be able to put 2 and 2 together lol.

Hmmm, Angela. 20% huh? We had a 20% chance of rain last night and the 1/2" of rain in 15 minutes flooded the street. Just saying. (Actually just teasing you.)

Let us know what you do and especially what the reaction was. Good luck.

Angela, I love red nail polish. It's classic. Good for you.

Well I was going to wear my nail polish to work today. Then my wife politely asked me not to. She has been supportive of my journey but has some some reservations, this among them. Compromise is the essence, among other things, of a good relationship. That is what is most important to me. I will have other opportunities.

Ah, shoot. But sometimes it is good to have a wise moderator around. :battingeyelashes:

Angela,

If your company allows open toe shoes, you could always wear sandals with your red toenails to work. It should be easier because you painted fingernails are more in everyones face whereas painted toenails are not. I wear sandals to work with red toenails, but only wear clear on my fingernails.

There's a saying about having non-platonic relationships at work; don't dip your pen in the company ink.

I think it applies to crossdressing as well. Work is work. Let work be work. There's plenty of time for our femme selves outside of work. I have people depending on me to continue to make my income. I can not and will not risk that over a desire to crossdress. Your wife may feel the same.

I agree with you Julie. However my situation is different. I'm 68 and have been retired quite a while. The job i am referencing is a part time for a few extra bucks.

Oh well in that case go to town, go full en femme :)

That does shed a little different light on things. I agree with Julie, seems like the risks are pretty minimal, so enjoy!

Julie,

You are so correct! Old saying on so many fronts, "don't dip your pen in company ink"
