Unless you have thin calves & ankles, black will givr the illusion of thinner legs, if you go with nude or suntan it make bring attention to you legs if they are muscular. I have worn both & differnt times & black brings less attention if you have long legs. just my thoughts. ;)

Jamie: I'm going to suggest that you try a hybrid....
Consider wearing the nude pantyhose and then pull on a pair of black fishnets over them. They're stylish and not at all ****ty providing you are wearing the appropriate length skirt/dress for evening wear. That combination will work very well with a pair of black pumps. Look sharp, gal!

I'll go with nude too. That's what I usuaully wear with a black cocktail dress, and black satin or suede heels. Black stockings and a black dress for funerals.

I would say nude hose with an LBD and black shoes. This gives a bit of contrast to an all black outfit. If you would choose to wear black hose with the LBD and black shoes, add a bit of color to the all black with a colorful bag or a great scarf.

"Bare legs" just doesn't seem to get enough love here...bare ftw! If you must choose, then...ugh, it's a hard choice for me, because aside from fishnets or exotic prints, I don't care for hose.
