I'm making plans to attend Jennifer's first ever public outing. Its a monthly meeting of FEM which will require driving about 30 minutes to the meeting site. I believe I won't have any problem leaving/returning to the house in the car. What I'm wondering is what to wear to the meeting. I'm thinking a very blend-y pair of skinny jeans, complimentary top and some colorful shoes.

Looks like a great outfit! Remember to accessorize with jewelry. You can get cheap rings at Walmart that look good.
I also am going to my first meeting with a group in Chicago this weekend. Enjoy, girl.

Looks good. Good luck. I, too, like those heels and they work with what you show.

What you picked out looks nice. If you are comfortable in that outfit then go for it!

Jenn, don't forget the two most important parts, a huge smile and a confident walk!

It looks like you have a good outfit picked for your first meeting. Don't forget Valerie's suggestion about jewelry with a necklace & bracelet being a must and earrings & rings if you have them. Above all, relax & enjoy!

My advice having attended a few support meetings is even though you may be sitting most of the time wearing heels can prove hard on the feet especially if there's any walking to and from the car.

Blendy jeans and top sounds appropriate.

Jenn, don't forget the two most important parts, a huge smile and a confident walk!

Very good advice!

And yes, I'll be giving serious consideration to accessories. Got to pick out a bag that will go with the outfit.

Good point. I'm thinking I'll have a pair of flats in a separate tote bag just in case.

Jenn, The outfit looks great. Jeans make it easier to blend. Love the shoes.

You said "skinny jeans". I have tries skinny jeans and find that they don't look right on me because my legs and thighs are already skinnier than a woman's. I wear hip and butt padding and the skinny jeans show the transition from padding to leg. Straight leg or "curvy" jeans work much better for me.

Take some photos of yourself and analyze them.

Great outfit for 1st meeting. Been to a few myself, They usually make you very welcome. Its great to meet others like ourselves and swap ideas. Some groups can have cliques.

Thanks Krisi for the comment. Yes, that is a problem. I'm still working on that solution but I think I'm close. Will post pictures but I'm not thinking I'll make the August meeting. Perhaps late September.

For what its worth, I didn't make it to the August meeting. However, I did attend the September meeting (first time out) but decided on a different outfit. Instead of the one on this thread (which will appear at a future outing), I wore a black top and a leopard print skirt.

You will be with like minded people. Doesn't matter. You can wear anything. Be comfortable.

Dont forget perfume, believe me it all adds to the experience, I always have some Charlie perfume to spray in my handbag to spray all over, it all adds to the experience and memory of the event. Have a great time.

A skirt is always a great choice over jeans.

A light colored skirt will make your bottom look bigger. So will horizontal stripes.
A black skirt is preferred by most GGs as it has a slimming effect.

Your choice of a black top and light leopard skirt is a good one.

Thanks so much for the compliments. By the time that picture was taken near the end of the meeting, I had pretty much settled into my Jenn persona and didn't feel any stress about the way I was dressed.

Actually, the whole event went well. About the most stressful time was from when I first pulled out of the garage (fully dressed) until I got to the meeting place. That was about a 30 minute drive in broad daylight and I was constantly wondering if people were looking into the car and if the saw a woman if they did.
