Today my wife asked that I start cleaning and preparing the house for the Christmas stay of her 5 sisters this is an annual event that she takes great pride in and wants everything to be perfect to impress them. To ensure I don't miss anything she insisted I wear full maids attire as she knows this really focuses my mind and reminds me that things need to be perfect. Adding to my uniform she produced not one but two super volumous petticoats which made my skirts stand out almost horizontally exposing my nyloned legs there was certainly no forgetting my position. I am not 'out' to her sisters but they are aware I stay at home and look after the house so regularly tease that I am well trained when they see the house and they ask my wife if they can 'borrow' me to clean theirs. One sister I suspect has an idea of our lifestyle after finding a pair of high heels which were to large for my wife on a previous visit which we bluffed were for a fancy dress party and smiles knowingly at me. Does anyone else have to put in extra effort for festive family visits.

Hi Amy :hugs:, I don't have that problem, But that is an Interisting story,

It is like I can see it unfolding as I read it, >Orchid**O:hugs:O**

Not extra effort exactly, but extra cautious. The only person in my family that knows of my dressing is my wife. If one or both of my sons and their SO comes over at any time, my wife alerts me with the code words "Hide The Rum" - which means be sure all your "Kris" stuff is put away and dresses are not out on the bed, size 10 heels on the floor or breastforms on the night table. Usually, these items are hiding in plain sight in closets and cabinets, but if they have been in use they might still be out. Both my boys have seen this stuff, but they do not realize what they are looking at, it just looks like things that belong to their mother (I think!). With the holidays both will be staying over I'm sure, I will redouble my efforts to make sure it stays that way, including not leaving the computer logged on to CD.com!

We have family over from time to time, but I don't have to put in special effort to hide things. We still have 2 kids at home, and they have no idea dad dresses in women's clothing. Both kids have seen me in tights under my jeans/shoes, but have no idea they are seeing tights. I wear compression socks most of the time, and they look about the same, so they assume the tights are the socks. Or, at least they've never said anything. One of the kids, being a teenager, ran through our drawers, which I readily detected. She had no idea how I detected, but I did. I told her to not dig through our drawers again. She said she needed something or the other. I told her we wouldn't run through her drawers, and to ask us next time. It's likely she saw some of my CD stash, but very likely assumed it was my wife's. My wife has most of the drawer space and all of the closet space in our bedroom. The rest of my CD stash is buried in the garage.

Amy, it's wonderful your wife is so supportive! My wife is too (but perhaps not to that level! lol!)

Amy, I have a house keeper and I can assure you she does not wear petticoats. Usually jeans and a t-shirt. My wife and I always travel for Christmas, so we do nothing special with the house.

I really don't understand, Amy. I've read of other dressers who r inspired to clean house in maid's outfits. My maid outfits r some what constricting. And, I'd get them dirty and sweaty!
No thanks!:thumbsdn:

Now, u write of wearing pettycoats out to your elbows while cleaning house!?

None of this makes any sense to me!

I did get out the 30 year old John Deere tractor and wagon and hauled all the boxes of holiday decorations from the shed up to the house! Does that count? Lol. Looking more like a farmer than a French maid.

It's quite simple docrobbysherry this outfit is already very short so adding volumous petticoats did make it stand out but not to the extent you seem to imagine if it had been a long dress. It is not often my wife specifically asks me to don a maids outfit but she is aware that for me and others it seems to have more of an effective impact on the mindset toward cleaning I don't know why that is.

Lucky girl! With Christmas fast approaching our house is a mess. I finally got all the outside decorations up. The rainy weather gave me cause not to climb ladders or hook up electrical wires in the rain. When my wife was still working and I a retiree, I did the domestic chores a la June Cleaver, dress, hose and heels. I don't think I'd go as far as donning a French maid outfit. Given my age I'd go more for a black skirt and white blouse, black heels and hosiery.

Amy, I totally get it! Perhaps you saw my posts some months ago about my female led marriage (that few here seemed to understand or accept). Although (unfortunately) my wife would not allow a full maid uniform, she does have me do my housecleaning in a frilly apron. Please PM me if you have any interest in discussing FLR outside of the forum. Nancy

What a wonderful incentive to clean, If my wife offered that our house would be spotless. Fun you and your wife have a fun relationship around crossdressing.

I get it. I stay at home and my wife has me do the majority of domestic chores. I consider it a kind of feminine thing to do. Sexist of me I am sure to think like that. When my daughter leaves home in another 10 years I will probably clean while dressed.

I love your story. The first dress I ever purchased was a maid's outfit. While I have long ago discarded it (a bit too small), I have kept the petticoat I bought to wear with it. I've often thought of buying another maid's outfit now that I am much better at sizing. I would love to put such an outfit on, come out of the bedroom, and announce to my wife I'm ready to do whatever cleaning chores that need taken care of. While CDing itself is not a fetish for me, I'm thinking being submissive in this manner to my wife may well be a fetish desire.

I help with the cleaning and decorating for the holidays.
I've joked many times about "the union" coming after her as I don't have a proper uniform. The last time I did this she just said, "if you want one then buy one". I'm still shopping. Just haven't found one that is the quality and style I prefer yet.
Any shopping suggestions?

"Real" maids that I have seen (and hired) do not wear any special uniform, much less a sexy uniform. They just wear work clothes.

I seldom clean the house, my wife has her way of doing it and I wouldn't want to do it wrong. I usually do the laundry and I am usually dressed as Krisi at the time, but not in any special outfit, just whatever I happened to put on that morning.

I do most of the cooking around here. By the time I start my meal prep I am usually back in male mode due to the time of day. By 4 pm I have had enough Natalie time I am ready to send her packing. I tend to get real dressy and I have no female casual clothes.

Regarding family guessing something is up, (see original post), my wife and I get out toes done together. This last time I picked RED for the holidays. My wife kind of made a noise but she did not show any other concern after the "oh boy" she muttered. Well I like them very much and my wife said, let me take a photo of them. So I let her. Well, she sent that picture to 2 of my 5 sisters. One sister came back with a comment of "crossdresser" . I told her not to let the cat out of the bag please. We live 3000 miles away from them so no chance of just dropping in.

Since my wife passed in July this Christmas is going to be low key for me. I'm not putting up either of our two trees (the pink tree or the Hallmark tree. We finally put up the Hallmark tree last year, after 27 years of collecting the ornaments, so I'm glad she was able to see it at least once before she passed). No Harry Potter HO train set and village, no lights, not making any holiday treats that I helped my wife with over the years. Will be buying a few gifts for close friends and probably get a few in return. Next year I'll probably return to normal.

I, too, do most of the cooking and help out with cleaning. As I?m dressed daily, I don?t have a special cooking or cleaning outfit. When we have family or guests, I do have to hide my things. It all works out.

I'm sorry Diane I didn't mean to bring up upsetting memories and wish you all the very best
Kirsi I appreciate what you say is true but I'm not a real maid the image of a overtly feminine French maid is of course stereotypical and unrealistic in respect to actually being practical but my wife likes it for several reasons a) as mentioned it enforces my mindset that a great job must be done b) it reminds me of my position for that day with every step or reflection in a mirror c) she knows it brings me pleasure and maybe more importantly d) it simply amuses her. As I have mentioned its not an everyday outfit normally it is far more conventional if not a little saucy feminine clothing

Diane P, so sorry for your loss. I would strongly urge you to make at least one of those special holiday treats you used to make with your wife. It will keep your memories alive. Growing up, my mom used to make the most amazing array of holiday treats. When I grew up and moved across the country, we rarely got home for the holidays. The first year away, she sent me a box with a couple of my favorite cookies and included the complete recipe for each. I started making them on my own and they became a tradition with my now-grown kids. Mom passed away about 15 years ago but I still make the cookies. Every time I do I think of all the wonderful time growing up and sharing those cookies with that special lady.

Pre-Covid my wife volunteered at a local nonprofit one day a week, which gave me an opportunity to dress fully. I would do all the housework while dressed, which did help focus my attention to detail, perhaps because I enjoyed it so much. When she came home and remarked how good the house looked, I would reply, “The Good House Fairy came today”. If she only knew…

My sympathies to you Diane, for the loss of your wife. Maybe it would be good for you to make one of those treats that you used to make with your wife, as Claire said. And try to spend time with friends and other family. And Amy, it looks like your wife has you trained to be her favorite sexy maid in addition to being her husband.

Funny you should mention this. My wife is out of town for a night and I took the opportunity to clean our workshop, and sent her a picture. ?Maybe I should go away overnight ore often? was her response and I couldn?t help but suggest ?Think what would get done if I had a maids dress??. Maybe some day I?ll be a good maid like you.

AmyJordan you really didn't bring up upsetting memories, it was me just thinking about this time of year and how much my wife loved Christmas. When we first got married and lived in Las Vegas we use to drive around looking at Christmas light displays. We evn did it in Bozeman, Mt some times. Being here in the middle of nowhere Oklahoma there's not a lot to see and it's a 90 minute drove to OKC.

Claire M and Silkinessizbliss2 thank you for the suggestions about making some of the stuff my wife and I use to make. I might just do that. I have been getting out of the house and doing things with friends. I bowl on a league Tues nights. Since the beginning of Sep I've been to six different concerts, Sat night was REO Speedwagon in Durant, Ok at the Choctaw Casino & Hotel. I'll be spending Christmas day with some friends, the same one I spent Thanksgiving with. So believe me when I say that I'm trying to make sure I don't sit around the house and get depressed about losing my wife.

Take this comment for what it's worth, what ever your belief system is, I know she's in Heaven with God and watching over me. There have been a few times over the last 5 months where I would have sworn I heard her talk to me, either in the morning saying Good Morning or during the middle of the night just saying something that I didn't quite catch that wakes me up. So I know she's watching me and sometimes shaking her head wondering what I'm doing, but loving me anyway.

Thank you to all my sisters here, you make me feel like I have a large, extended family.

Amy how lucky are you to have your wife insist on maid attire for your house cleaning duties this is number 1 on my bucket list.

My wife mostly dresses the house for Christmas. I was away climbing in the cairngorms this year and came home to a most happy twinkling home. To which I added a Fluffy Coow from Scotland. I do dress the outside trees and bushes. Think neighbours might perhaps notice, if I did that in a French maids outfit, not that I have one. I do do a most of the house work though, since I am retired and my wife still chooses to work.

For almost certain, if one sister knows, they all do.
