Day 1

Sat, the 10th, was the Girls Night Out in OKC. My friend Emily, who lives in Arkansas, came over on Fri and invited me to dinner. I drove over to OKC 75% en femme, wearing tight women?s jeans, red spaghetti strap top(which was under a regular t-shirt), sandal type flats, and lipstick. When I got to her hotel, a little after 6, I took off the t-shirt and put on my ginger wig, then went in to meet her and another friend, Ellie, in the hotel bar.

Our dinner reservation was for 7 so we left for the restaurant about 6:30, Emily riding with me and Ellie going in her car. I dropped Emily off by the front door so she could go get our table while I found a place to park. Parked a block down from the restaurant entrance and walked to the restaurant. As I walked up the street I passed a few people along the way and thought to myself ?I don?t care what you think of me being dressed like a woman. I?m happy with myself?. Which absolutely astounded me as this was my first time out in public as Diane. But it was the truth and I felt very proud of myself.

I joined Emily in the restaurant, Picasso Cafe. She told me she had gotten a text from Ellie that she had to go home and wouldn?t be joining us for dinner. We looked over the menu and ordered. The food was delicious and after sitting and talking for a while we headed back to the hotel. Again as I passed a few people out on the street I thought to myself ?I don?t care what you think of me being dressed like a woman. I?m happy with myself?. When we got back to the hotel Emil asked me what I wanted to do, I told her I had no idea. So she suggested we walk a little ways from the hotel to check out a local bar she had been to before. When we got there there were very few people in the bar, which was surprising since it was about 8:30. We decided to go down the street to a bar Emily had been wanting to check out. There were several people in there, so we gots drinks and sat down to talk.

We finally headed back to the hotel around 10 and I decided to head for home since I had an hour and half drive. All in all a fun evening.

Day 2

On Sat I headed for OKC about 2:30 for the Girls Night Out. I had a makeup appointment with Tory at 4:30. That day I decided to look more feminine and was wearing a pink spaghetti strap dress, pink bra and black 2? block heels. This was my first time in heels and I had been advised to get block heels, since I?d probably fall on my face in regular heels. On the way over I got a text message from Tory asking what room I was in. Texted back that I wasn?t in a room I was driving in. When I got there she told me she didn?t have a room to do makeup in. She talked to the people at the front desk and they opened up a room at the top of the stairs for her that she had used before. She did my makeup and after she was done I had her assistant do my nails. Her assistant decided to match my nails to my dress, so I had lovely pink nails!

Met Emily out by the pool and we sat and talked and watched the pool party that was going on. Only complaint about that was the music was so loud we almost couldn?t hear each other as we talked. About 6:00 we decided to order pizza for dinner. Emily tried on her phone, but was having some sort of trouble. I started trying to order Pizza Hut online, but the Pizza Hut Express I was trying to order from didn?t deliver. I looked up the phone number for another Pizza Hut and called in the order for pizza, paying for it over the phone, so there wouldn?t be any need to do anything but tip the driver when it was delivered. Emily went inside to tell the person at the desk about our pizza and asked them to tell the delivery person we were out by the pool. As we sat talking and waiting on the pizza we were joined by another girl, in drab, that introduced herself as Kimberly.

Pizza was delivered 30 minutes later and we ate and talked, offered some to Kimberly, but she declined. When we were done Emily took what was left of the pizza in to give to the front desk. After that the three of us went into the hotel and to the bar, got drinks and sat talking some more. We were hoping that our friend Ellie would be going us, as I had texted her earlier and she replied she be there about 7. Unfortunately something must have come up because she didn?t make it. Surprisingly there didn?t seem to be as many girls there as there were the first time I went over in Mar. I finally decided to head home about 9:30. When I walked out the front door I saw a man sitting off to the side on the brickwork. Said ?Have a good night? as I walked by and stepped off the sidewalk to get to my car. From behind me I heard ?Hey, come here?, so I turned around and stepped back up onto the sidewalk. He then asked ?Are you interested in kissing?. To which I immediately replied ?Not really?. He said ?Okay? and I turned around, headed for my car, got in and headed home. What amazed me was that I had just been hit on dressed as Diane! I?m still not sure how to take that. Other than that interesting end to the night I really enjoyed going to the GNO and plan on going as often as I can from here on out.

I am always astonished by the behavior of some men. Seriously, what person beyond the age of four (and darn few below the age of four) would a) follow a woman out of a bar, and b) ask her if she is interested in kissing. Good grief what a creep.

Rather an unfortunate conclusion to an otherwise enjoyable evening.

Big thanks for adding to the fun time and making two trips out there Diane.
Also, for rescuing me from pizza hut hell on my phone. Maybe I'm really a blonde... lol

I am glad to hear you had a good time Diane, being out in "the real world" with friends is great.

But .. I do want to offer a little feedback. Not to be negative at all, just a couple things that really got my attention in your post. You probably already know what I am going to say :)

Diane: I dropped Emily off by the front door so she could go get our table while I found a place to park.
This would be unusual for women to do especially in the evening, and there is definitely also a safety aspect to it.
It is much more enjoyable to stay together and chat while you park and walk to the restaurant. Aside from enjoying each others company, if someone address you, you can easily just keep chatting between you and pretend to not hear them.

Diane: From behind me I heard ?Hey, come here?, so I turned around and stepped back up onto the sidewalk.
Nope! No No No ... Nope! Big red flag, very dangerous situation!
I dont think I need to explain why.
Again, it would be much safer and much more normal to walk to the car with a friend if at all possible.
When out as a woman you need to always think like a woman.

To round this off on a positive note, again really glad for you that you are getting out! Sounds like you are making some friends and building confidence, which is awesome.
Can't wait to read about your next adventure :)

Thanks Suzie. Never engage someone who randomly calls out to you for no apparent reason. He was probably surprised that you even responded to him - hence the weird "kissing" question.

And if you have a friend -"wingwoman" - stick with each other.

Overall, it sounds like you had a great time. Well done.

I think being hit on in a busy club or bar can be fun and flattering.:o

But, I found being hit on in private far from other folks to be scarry as hell!

Suzie, thank you for your advice, I'll take it to heart. I'm still learning to think like a woman when I'm out, even just walking from the hotel to my car. So any advice is welcome. Overall it was a great two days and I'm looking forward to going again next month. Really looking forward to the 17th Annual Heartland Fall Party & Music Festival November 2-3-4! Things worked against me making it to the May but I efinitely olan on being there in Nov and every month between now and then.

Diane, I'm glad that you had a good time. I'm sorry you had to get creeped out on the way to your car.
