I wrote my last post about my embarrassing doctors appointment and my back pain and the great advice form Docrobbysherry and the crunches really help. I decided to take a day off work to rest my back and when my 3 year old granddaughter found out I wasn't feeling well she wanted to come and see me and spend the day to pamper me. Three year olds have a great imagination putting a blanket on me and asking me if I wanted anything and just cuddling to make me feel better. At one point we went in the yard and she went in the kiddy pool and when she got out she was disappointed her nail polish came off. She puts on her removable paint as nail polish and she asked me if I could put it on her. I was doing her nails and then she asked if she could do mine. Well from the nail polish it ended up putting make-up on each other and I put on a pokadot dress and Micky Mouse ears and she wanted to have lunch out back. When my wife came home she came out back to find the both of us eating lunch in the yard with me fully dressed and my granddaughter so excited jumping telling my wife she was having lunch with her girlfriend. My wife's first reaction was to look around and see if the niebours were out and then she dropped to her knees and started laughing so hard that tears were running down her face.My wife joined us for lunch and it was so much fun and when my granddaughter went for her nap I got changed.
Well as much it was amazing to be outside dressed it was so amazing that I really made my granddaughters day. One thing for sure she took my mind off my back pain.

You have an amazing family Maria - my daughter and granddaughter live with us and gram in a dress is no surprise to her. Your daughter is raising a great child.

My granddaughters r 10 and 12. My daughter hasn't told them their granddad is Sherry. I'm not out and we all think it's better they don't know until after high school.
Because they mite talk about it and middle school kids and high schoolers can be brutal!

Your three year old granddaughter has not run into societal norms and expectations yet. All she did was have a happy day with grandpa. Little kids like to play dress up and have a great imagination. Recently, I read an interesting article concerning boys as young as kindergarten taking on the roll of gender enforcer, i.e., boys should not be doing certain things that are assigned to girls. Toxic masculinity can start early. I hope your granddaughter continues to have fun days with grandpa.

What a wonderful, wonderful story. Great memories. Way to go grandpap. It is nice that you take the time to play with her. Some do not.

Maria, sounds like you had a wondeful day with your granddaughter. I love the part about your wife busting out laughing.

What a great story. I don't think my granddaughter would encourage me like that. Then again, she's 32.

Maria, it sounds as if your granddaughter is ready to go to a "Drag Queen Story Time" event at your local library the next time one takes place. :heehee:

There is a fine line here that has been crossed in my opinion. I'm surprised your wife took it so lightly and wonder what the parents' reaction will be (since kids talk).

Wonderful story, you only did what every grandparent should do, make your grandchild happy. Just a added plus that it also made your day. :)

Making kids laugh is one of the noblest things a human being can do. If what we wear adds to the mirth, so much the better.
