Watching the weather forecast on local news tonight. Noticed the weather girl was wearing an identical green and black dress to one I purchased last year. The weather girl is about 25 years younger than me. Not sure whether to take it that we share impeccable fashion taste or we both like a bargain as I got it in the sale.

Depending on the market, weather girls do not get paid much! Lol.

She saw you when you were out & about wearing it Debbie, and just had to have one for herself.

I hope it doesn't matter too much which it is, Debbie? Because the only way to find out for sure would be to ask her!:heehee:

I shared a two-bedroom apartment with a "weather girl" for a year, when we worked at the same station. (I had my own clothes by that point so I never once invaded her privacy, and I was actually dating another weather girl at the time.) They have an online group where they share their wardrobe finds with each other. It's often a very low-paying job, sometimes part time, so the clothes need to be cheap, they must be green-screen compatible, and of course the main goal is to look great on camera. You don't want to go on the air in the same dress too often, so they need a large collection. There are online photo collections with screen-shots of the same dress being worn on-air by several different women. Surveys consistently show that the weather person is the #1 reason that people pick one local newscast over another, and cute weather girls are an unashamedly sexist result of that.

I think seeing as she has copied you with the dress you should follow suit and get some shoes that match hers lol
I went to the mall a few months ago to go shopping with my GG, we sat down to have a drink and suddenly on the next table a woman appeared in exactly the same dress as I had on, we looked at each other and smiled. She then got up and left. So yes it does happen

One of my local weather girls wears some dresses that I would really like to have myself, but she is some 50 years younger than I. On occasions, her dresses just don't work imho. This one was disturbing. LOL

ABC’s chief meteorologist, Ginger Zee, stationed out of NYC, went a year without buying new clothes for TV. She rented them! She has it documented somewhere on her FB page. I love her style.

On all my local stations the weather girls wear dresses. I don't think it is due to a dress code because the newscasters seem to gravitate to pants. My wife always makes a comment if a dress is too snug on a body and would look better in the next size up.
