I recently embarked on a 4-day journey to the vibrant city of Berlin. While I don't strictly categorize myself as a crossdresser, I lean towards being a gender-fluid individual who revels in the freedom of expressing my femininity through clothing, makeup, nail polish, and stylish boots :cute:
My Berlin itinerary was a blend of must-see landmarks and culturally enriching experiences. I had my sights set on visiting iconic sites like the Reichstag, the Jewish Memorial, the Jewish Museum, the Museum of German History, and more. At several landmarks, I had to go through security, which, while slightly inconvenient was also somewhat exciting (taking off my coat and showing my pretty dress). In addition, I was eager to explore the city's LGBTQ+ scene, with plans to check out some of the lively queer bars and restaurants. To make my adventures even more exciting, I rented a bicycle for 26 Euros, allowing me to navigate the large city with some effort.
One of the remarkable aspects of my trip was how Berlin embraced my non-binary style without hesitation. The city exuded an atmosphere of acceptance and inclusivity, making me feel comfortable and confident in my dresses and skirts, without any attempt to "pass" as a woman. I encountered just one exception, a somewhat grumpy airport security officer who had to perform a manual pat-down after the scanner registered some anomalies :heehee:? possibly due to my breast forms, shapewear, or stylish boots :D
What truly sets Berlin apart is its unwavering dedication to being a queer-friendly haven. The city boasts a rich tapestry of diversity, and during my stay, I couldn't help but notice a handful of fellow "crossdressers", a frequency I rarely encounter back home (Paris).
As I pen down these reflections, I find myself at an airport lounge, wearing my faux leather skirt and silk blouse while waiting for my delayed flight. Berlin has left an indelible mark on me, and I carry its spirit of inclusivity and acceptance with me, it has boosted my confidence as I return home (and a 1st time wearing a skirt on a flight). The memories of my time in this diverse and open-minded city will stay with me, a constant reminder that being true to oneself is a journey worth taking.
