Close friends invited my wife and me out to drinks and lunch at a pop-up Christmas bar in Raleigh. The couple are both women, and I've been out to them for a long time. Thus, I went as Joanie. We had a blast! The pop-up bar took over an existing bar, with a Tiki Christmas theme. They had mugs in the theme, such as coconuts, mer-Santas, etc, and tropical drinks. Plus the food was great. I wore a green cord skirt with a light-colored sweater, black tights, and tan booties.
We ended up staying until the place closed at 3, just gabbing. I got no funny looks, used the ladies' room, and otherwise was just older lady having lunch with her friends.
One of the friends had lost a little weight, and brought me a huge bag clothes that are now too big for her. I like her taste in clothes, so it was like Christmas all over again. She gave me 8 or 10 tops, a couple of high-end sweaters, a cotton dress, and a beautiful fluffy purple coat with big lapels. I had been needing a casual coat for cold weather. She is much shorter than me, so some of the tops won't quite work unless I lose a considerable amount of weight -- which I need to anyways.
When we got home I switched to black leggings and one of the tops from my friend, and went out for a few errands and shopping. A new ramen restaurant was having a soft opening nearby so I went in to check it out. I chatted with the young lady who came to greet me. I said I'd be back, and she said "Thank you, ma'am". That made my day of course.
I like to push the envelope of places I go, so I went to Advanced Auto and bought a gallon of windshield washer fluid. The clerk was very friendly. I went to Ross, had to use the facilities, and the restrooms were locked. I found a guy who worked security, told hime I needed the restroom, and he unlocked the ladies' for me. To cap off the day, I found a great pair of plain black flats, which I had really been needing.
The picture is in front of the bar where we had lunch.

All in all, a great day out for Joanie.
