Nail Polish Smells

Does the smell of nail polish only effect you when wife does her nails?

She puts polish on her nails and I have to leave the room. When I put it on my nails it doesn't seem to smell nearly as bad. But she has to leave the room complaining about the smell.

Similar to the sound a machinist's file makes. Only the filer can stand the noise. Drives anyone else crazy.

I used to hate the smell until I started polishing my own nails. Now it doesn't bother me at all, no matter who's causing it. It's become an aroma that I associate with "pretty".
