My wife surprised me as she has booked a restaurant and then on to theatre and bought this dress and.booked me.in to get my nails and make up done for the occasion
Is this dress to much of which I love it and am looking forward to wearing

It will not allow for a bra, so hopefully you have your own well developed breasts, in which case, we are not envious at all!

I agree with Jamie, for a restaurant it would depend and would likely only work well at a very high end place. You might want to look for a Shrug or Bolero jacket, or a large scarf or something else to drape over your shoulders while enroute, and while at the restaurant.
Of course, a Mink would be very elegant!

What heels are you planning on wearing? And, have your wife selected her outfit yet?

That dress certainly is no ordinary going out style for sure. As others have stated, must be pretty high end. That?s where I would expect to see such. If that?s the venue, and it hangs on you halfway decent, we are all jealous. Enjoy!

I'm kind of in line with everyone else. It is a bit much for ju st a normal outing. I know it's special evening but still. Those of us who have few opportunities to get out tend to go to extremes, which puts our look a bit over the top. Because this is that 1 chance we're gonna get to go out dressed for a while, So we want to do it all to the max. Unfortunately that's not always the best plan.

Tanya, before the big day, you should definitely give the dress a trial run to see how it fits, how it looks on you, and to find out what adjustments or enhancements you might want to make. Your wife sounds like she'll be a great help in all this.

Don't wait till the last minute to iron out all the little details. You don't want to risk something going wrong that will mess up the whole outing.

Besides - how could you possibly stand to wait to try on such a lovely outfit?

I would not overdress when comparing to what your wife is going to wear. What does she plan on wearing?

And how do you look in that dress? It may work great or maybe not. You will have to try it on beforehand for sure.
