So, this is the year. For the past goodness knows how many years I?ve promised myself that this year I?ll get in shape, lose weight and for my annual week away have as femme a figure as I possibly can. Last year wasn?t a bad attempt, I?ve lost weight since 2020 and the start of the pandemic. Lockdowns stopped me going to the pub twice a week, a habit I didn?t return to once things had returned to normal.

Not really tried to lose weight, it just happened. No beer, smaller stomach, smaller stomach, meals made me feel full quicker so smaller meals, less calorie intake, weight falls.

Every Saturday I get 4-5 hours home alone time and a chance to dress more fully. Forms, hip and bum pads plus all the accessories, jewellery, wig, heels. This gives me the chance to look in the full-length mirror and, in my eyes, at least, a female figure appears before me. Still a little bit of the old love handles at the waist but nowhere near what they were 4-5 years ago. No bulge from under the bra band either. Thinner in the face too.

So, with a little bit more work all the signs are there of meeting my goal this year. Achieving ?the shape?. Flat front, curved waist, no bra squeeze.

Add to the mix that none of us gets any younger I can?t keep saying next year. The facial features I can?t do much about other than lose weight, jowls are hard to camouflage with makeup, but I can experiment and try to improve my makeup skills to complete the picture.

And, wait for it, here comes the shameless plug, if anyone wants to see the results first hand you could of course come and join Debs and I in Manchester in November, constructive criticism always welcome.

Congratulations on your weight loss! It gets harder as we age, I am starting a slow change in my diet and lifestyle to become a bit more fit.

Good for u, Helen! Permanent weight loss only comes from diet change, not dieting. Keep making little, gradual, changes and even if u just lose a pound a month you're going in the rite direction!

When I switched from beer to red wine 15+ years ago I lost 8 pounds in a few weeks, permanently!:)

I lost weight during the Covid that I really needed to spend some bucks having my femme attire worked on by a professional tailor.

My wife strongly prefers that we go shopping as "girlfriends" (always) to update my femme wardrobe rather than have my old stuff tailored. She constantly reminds me that if I enjoy being her girlfriend that I will stop dragging my feet.

I have been slow to take her up on her suggestion, but I have enjoyed her friendly reminders that she is getting inpatient. Her latest hint is when she nags at me, "I want my girlfriend to go shopping with me!"

Hi Helen, well done on the weight loss.
I to have lost 28lb in 8 weeks, I started to lose weight once I had confided in my wife about me dressing and since she is supportive and encouraging I have made an effort to look more attractive as a woman.
I lost the weight by simply fasting, I fast once a month for 48 hours. Drink lots of water and when I break the fast I am full quicker so eat less. My beer belly has almost gone. I weighed 15st 13lb. I currently weigh 13st 12lb.
Myself and my wife would love to meet yourself and Deb in November. Send me dates and where you will be staying and I?ll book the hotel etc. x

Nice going Helen! It's the little changes that have the most impact. I cut way back on my beer intake, eat healthier and walk for about an hour a day, which helped me lose about 12 lbs (would love to lose 12 more!). The walk time also gives me a chance to listen to a lot of podcasts; mostly about crossdressing , history and a few other topics that catch myths attention. Keep it going!

Hi
Myself and my wife would love to meet yourself and Deb in November. Send me dates and where you will be staying and I?ll book the hotel etc. x

Verona,

It would be lovely to meet up with you both. The date is Wednesday the 20th Nov. Debs is booked into a local hotel but for data protection can you PM her for details. If you've never met up with other CD'ers and would like to make a longer time away then on the Thursday I plan to attend a support group meeting in Prestatyn and I know they'd make you both welcome.

Going back to the weight loss, it does make such a difference to your look don't you think? I do need to weight myself and set myself a target as encouragement to do a bit more exercise and work on flattening the tummy, get those muscles tighter. I want that flat front from the bra band downwards.

Well done on the weight loss Helen! Yes, stopping the beer will do that as I found out too. I was a wine drinker, I really enjoyed my 2 or 3 glasses per night. However, on the night of the Queens funeral, I toasted her memory one too many times and fell over, landing on the floor with a bump into a piece of furniture on the way down. The following morning, any intake of breath was painful & I thought that I might have broken a rib. A visit to the doc & x-rays proved that I was still in one piece. I resolved then, to quit drinking because, at 75 & living alone, I could have been lying on the floor for a week before someone found me. Anyway, my weight dropped 15lbs, without doing anything else, and I have maintained that new weight. I, too, have not had a glass of wine since that day.
