Hi everyone,
It has been a long time and recently I started looking at this page again. Haven't had much time or desire to dress and no new clothes since last post.
But wanted to say hello and ask what some of your first experiences dressing in front of others or letting someone in on your dressing?
Thanks

For me, it didn't go well - she did not like it despite being more liberal than liberal - if it were someone else or a work colleague - she would be 100% supportive but 100 % against in her personal life.
At first she was " its you and that's ok - but that tune quickly changed.
I would add it was only stockings, panties & garters not all dolled up.
I don't see any upside reason to share it with the non TG community.
There was a fellow in my medical industry sector and despite the liberal " Mission Statements" of all companies and a health care focus, patient rights etc etc after he started to dress as a woman and start her transition - she lost a great career very quickly and
not for lack of competence.
My advice would be : What is the upside of people knowing this ? What purpose will it serve? and does the upside outweight the potential downsides and why?
Almost all women discuss their relationship with their girlfriends - so be prepared for others knowing etc.
There's a pretty big Michigander TG group and a big event in CHI I think every year.

My first time in front of others was also a Halloween party.
My wife sort of knew I dressed (long story) and she borrowed a dress from a friend and we went to a party. It was incredible how all the women were so interested. They all wanted to know what lingerie I was wearing, are they stockings or pantyhose. Are you wearing panties, where did you get the shoes, who did your makeup.
When we entered the party I walked in arm-in-arm with a male friend. We passed the host and other friends and they all started with "who's the girl with ****". I made it to the kitchen when my wife entered and they asked where I was. Then all the lightbulbs went on. It was so fun that they didn't recognize me. If they only knew the truth.

My first experiences were with my wife and children. My wife was OK but my kids took it hard at first. My wife hated my first breast forms. But then I started wearing wigs, and everything was suddenly ok, with my kids too. Emulating women was ok. Man-in-a-dress was not so much. I think trying to look like a woman made them feel like I was honoring women. I think they saw going part way as mocking women.
And that’s the way it is. I admire women, and I want to be as much like them as possible.

Welcome back Jodiee.
My first time seen was with my wife after we had "The Talk" it went well and continues 14 years later. I didn't have any clothes at that time but we wear a lot of the same sizes so she loaned me hers until I could get my own. Now both of my daughters know as well as their SO's and a few others, some I've told and some the wife told. We've left that up to each of us to decide. I now have as big of a women's wardrobe as she does I think :)

First time I told someone about me was when I told my fiance. I felt she had a right to know. I think she kinda forgot about it until she discovered some of the negative aspects of it after being married.

Outside of my sister dressing me when I was young, which by the way is how I got hooked all though I didn't know it for a few years. I came out to my wife and dressed for her. She laughed and said I was cute and looked like my sister. However, she is excepting, but does not like me to do it as often as I'd like. But occasionally is better than never.

I did go to a Halloween party over 40 years ago and a French maid. I wore the uniform with no wig, no breasts and no makeup. My wife was the butler. At this time, I hadn't told my wife. I just talked her into crossdressing costumes.
The first real time I went out was at the Maryland Renaissance Fair. I rented a "wench" costume.
Shortly after that, I met a CD.com member at a local gay bar; both of us were in girl mode.
