Another opportunity has come

Just as Covid hit, I was prepared for a special party where I was planning to attend in full dress up mode. We left the house and with several misadventures, traveled about 75 miles and arrived at the party. It had been cancelled without notice. It was a huge disappointment, but such things come along in life. The evening was not a total loss, because I had at least left the house dressed and made the trip.
Today I made reservations for a similar party. This time, the theme is Slave **** Fashion Show. Don't let the word **** in there offend you. They are a very caring bunch and it should be great fun. There will be judging on Most Passable, Biggest ****, Best Fetish Outfit, Best Walk, Best Legs and Most Intelligent. I have no ambition to win any area, but this will be my first time going out dressed.
To be honest, I am a little intimidated, not so much because of the dress, but because of my physical condition. Because of a brain injury, I am now dependent on a walker. I sure will not win Best Walk! I do not think heels and a walker go together very well. Even with this reservation, I am not going to miss out on a party where dressing is not only allowed, but actively encouraged.
It will be 190 miles from home. We are going to spend an extra night before party night, so I should have time to prepare. Don't think I will dress at the hotel, but wait until the party location. Just not ready for a general public reveal.
I am sure I will think of more to tell about it all. Just had to share the present plans with people who will understand.

No Doc, my wife is going with me. I have known the head person of the party for a number of years and I have no reservations about safety.

The day is coming quicker than expected. So much to gather and prepare for the trip. I think I am beginning to see why GGs seem to take so many bags on even a short trip.

I have decided to do much preparation at the hotel. Makeup, padded underthings, hose and nails, but save the dress and wig for party time. Even this plan seems overwhelming, but a trip from the room to the parking lot should not be too eventful. Excited to the max.

By all means, go for it! It sounds like great fun. Personally, I would not hesitate to dress fully at the hotel -- just leave by the side door if you are feeling self-conscious. A little excitement adds to the fun! By the time you head back, only the desk clerk will be there, and they tend to be very accepting.

Well Geena, I went for it. I dressed in the hotel, walked through the lobby and out to the van. My wife and I had made friends with the desk clerk, and she got a great laugh by our matching dresses. There were three woman waiting for a ride in the hotel portico. The took one look and immediately moved behind some columns to hide their laughing. One of the announced loudly, "Oh my g**, I just P**d myself." She was holding her wet dress out away from her body. We just laughed it off and went on our way. It never makes things better to take yourself too seriously. Went to a drive through to get chicken for the party without reaction. No problem being accepted a the party.
There was a catwalk laid out for the guys to strut and gain favor with the ladies who were voting on awards. There was also a random question for each contestant. My answer won me the "Most Intelligent" award. I was told the vote was almost unanimous for me. I had hoped for most passable prize, but the hotel incidents had prepared me for not getting that one. We went to a drive through for a midnight snack without comment.
It was all great fun and I have finally taken that first step outside the house and into public. Not as frightful as feared. I have no idea of future activities, but all in all, a good experience. Thanks to all of you who encouraged me to go for it. Now I can encourage others.

BTW, there are some other similar conferences. I go to the annual Keystone Conference. The main difference is that you can spend 4 days and 4 nights as a girl, with girls like us.
