Anyone else have significant unusual trends or changes in their dressing?

Some trends you expect, like maybe dialing it down a bit at we age.

I've experienced lately an unusual trend. I dressed my whole life, middle age now. Usually nice to "Sexy", but nothing over the top. sauciest things I did were body suits(black) and lingerie with thigh highs but nothing over the top. Been that way for decades.

Now, I'm finding myself drawn to playboy bunny outfits, pink FMO, themed body suits, petticoats, rompers, a lot of sequined stuff and so on. Not quite Brolita, but seems to be heading that way. I can't remotely pull any of the skimpy stuff off convincingly, but that is not the goal.

Anyone else go through a phase like this? We're all different I know, but how did yours evolve, resolve or workout.

For me I started more sexy but like you nothing over the top.

Now I just want to blend in.
Mostly I wear gg jeans and a nice top.
I wear control top panties to tuck so there are no signs there(smooth).
Attached forms B's, C's sometimes D cup and usually a small jacket to cover (depending on the temp)

My main goal when buying is to find clothes that look as feminine as possible on my male physique. I nearly always shop with my wife and will tell her what I’m thinking about buying before we even go shopping. I have always liked her style and am very happy to take her advice on style, colour and her opinion of how my purchases will look on me. My wife prefers me to choose things that I would like then she will give me her opinion. Occasionally, when shopping on her own she has bought a top that she thought I’d like. Although that is less common now my crossdressing collection has grown.

As far as trends are concerned we both like to keep our wardrobes up to date and like to stay with current fashions although not as radical as teenagers and young people are wearing. I do like a dress with a zip but unfortunately there are not many in the shops at the moment. Both my wife and I know I’m still looking.

I am wearing dresses more often then skirts these days (and hem lines below my knee)

I think I went through a fairly late and steep learning curve in terms of finding an appropriate style. At first, I selected clothes that I thought looked good on the models, who were always young and slim. I was always dissatisfied with how these things looked on my aging, not slim physique. Color, texture, pattern and season simply complicated matters. After trial and much error, I think I have arrived at a style that works reasonably well for me.

I have never blended in. I've always looked young for my age which is a plus when dressing. One of my Facebook Friends, who I recently met in person, joked that I was "turning 25" on my Birthday!
My workouts have somehow gotten more effective. When I first started wearing female clothes in public my waistline was 27 inches. Then I started exercising to get it to 25 inches. It was like that for a long time.
Then, boom, it is obscenely thin, well below 24 inches! Maybe wearing 4 inch heels in the house had something to with that? Now I get around in 4 inch heels as well as I do with kitten heels.

I am comfortable showing a lot of midriff in the hot and humid summer weather. I've been keeping it simple. Floral accents and lots of pink clothes. With white or light green for contrast.

In the last few years it?s been more skirts and dresses with a variety of hem lengths. Started putting together more outfits to blend in.

25+ years ago when I began dressing out of the blue and in private, skimpy and/or nude was my favorite look.

But, now that I go out a lot and I'm more mature at 80+, I prefer more over the top, clothed presentations like my avatar!:daydreaming:

I do not own anything skimpy. I dress age appropriate but as a casual business look. I like nice dresses with lining and a nice hug fit.

Had a few maxi skirts previously but I really splurged this year and bought a bunch. And I finally bought my first petticoat and absolutely love it!

I might be wrong, but I see "trends" more as socially accepted fashion. Years ago it was fine for a guy to wear shorts that were as short as his pockets, and he could wear a "half-shirt" (basicly a crop-top) in public. At the beach he could spandex his body or lack of it just like the women do to this day. Now men's bodies, even those with phenomenal bodies just like mine isn't, are "gross."

Personally I see myself go through phases. I'll wear tramp clothes for a while, then go for more school girl, then more like what a GG would wear. This is all in the privacy of my own home, of course. In public I always tone it down, go for the GG look. And by "public" I mean the gas station at 4AM.

These days I dress to blend in. But in the 90s I experimented with some visually fascinating things like a cheerleader outfit, a square dance ensemble with top/skirt/slip, a ball gown, and a gathered jumpsuit (https://www.pinterest.com/pin/434597432810508456/)(it was in style for only a month). They were all so pretty! Only wore them at home for fun. Maybe one of these outfits would make a good Halloween costume someday lol.

I haven't slowed in the least. In fact I've pushed the pedal down farther.
As for trends, well I've become more "average" and less flashy. Not much call for flashy around our area now.

I've been wearing a lot more female clothes while still presenting male(ish). More than half of the time when I'm out in public.

A couple of years ago my GG friend Renee encouraged me to expand my comfort zones, and I did. I started buying--and wearing in public--strappy summer dresses. I wear stuff that show my bare shoulders. Legs without hose. A shiny sequin Akira dress that meant no bra to hold my forms (got 6 compliments that night at Diva Las Vegas). Recently bought a strapless dress that is short and trying to figure out where to wear it.

I have reached the IDGAF stage.
