I've always liked the look of shirt dresses on women. It's a simple classic look. I've got a couple of shirt dresses from the women's department but this morning, when taking a mental inventory of my closet, my mind came to an oversized men's button up that I thought might turn out to be the equivalent of said shirt dress. I pulled the shirt out of my closet and put on over nothing but a lace thong and a simple surf necklace. It turned out to be the perfect length shirt dress.

My bare legs and cute sandals looked perfect with the length of the new found dress. I tried different styling options by leaving it low cut all the way to fully buttoned. I'd like the fully buttoned look with a nice statement necklace.

Does anyone else ever borrow from the drab side to get their fix?

Maybe a T-shirt on occasion.

None of my button shirts look like dresses. Altho I think sexy women and Sherry look hot wearing men's long, button shirts with loose collars and nothing else!:daydreaming:

But, that's a bedroom look only!:battingeyelashes:

I love that idea! I often mix and match my guy shirts with my slinky tank tops and skirts, and it makes a lovely gender fluid look.

When I have a little privacy (tuesday) I'll do a makeup thing and show you what I mean.

Great idea!

I spent decades wearing button-down shirts at work, usually open at the neck. Back in the 70-80s that meant that your collar and second button were open, especially if you were out at night. Because I saw that in the mirror for so long, I've never been able to find a woman's button-down that didn't register to my eye as "drab me" when I wore it. Even one that was all frilly (lace and embroidery down the front and around the collar) looked like me in a tuxedo shirt.
