Feels like I'm punishing myself

Yesterday we went for a walk by the lake, at one point we sat on a bench. My wife asked me what I was wearing under because she seen some lace hanging out of the bottom of my shorts. I was wearing what could be called shapers or spandex bike shorts or leggings there very silky and theses ones had lace at the bottom. I was also wearing a black sports bra under my shirt that also had lace at the stomach area. My wife asked me why I would do this to myself, Im wearing almost like a spandex material, there tight on the body and it's so hot and muggy outside. She asked me if I was punishing myself for some reason. Not really having an answer and for some reason it just felt so worth dying of heat just to feel the silk spandex material on my body. Sometimes it really does feel like I'm punishing myself for being this way. Why I would prefer to dye of heat rather then just being comfortable. Beats me.

We take what ever opportunities we get and yes, sometimes they don't make good sense. It can take a while to get into the mindset of wearing things that GG's find more comfortable but males might not view as being especially feminine, yet for GG's it's their daily go to.

My wife switches from nylon panties to cotton for the summer because they are cooler. Not me I stick with my favorite panties all year.

When the summer heat arrives I stop wearing my nylon slips (and when it is really hot no cotton slips either) and only wear dresses with high cotton content.

R u joking, Maria, or do u really not know? There r definitely bondage aspects to dressing. From the very beginning I found cinchers, corsets, girdles, etc. and tite, restrictive, fem clothing took my breath away. Both figuratively and literally!:)

That feeling lasts as long as I'm dressed. The tite, uncomfortable, restriction a constant reminder that now I look and feel like the women I'm trying to immitate that have suffered over the centuries to look feminine!:battingeyelashes:

I identify comfort with dressing drab. So, whenever someone here posts about feeling more comfortable dressed it makes me laff!:tongueout

If it is hot and humid outside I would take the lead of my wife: no bra, cotton panty and loosely fitting summer dress. The bra is the first garment is strips off when we get home. For me, it's all or nothing, so during the summer it tends to be nothing other than sleeping in a nightgown. No air conditioning, but our overnight temps are usually in the 50's in the summer.

Around here this has been the most prolonged stretch of hot & humid weather that I can remember (From late June through now) and it has definitely been working against dressing up. What opportunities I have found have lasted for no longer than a couple hours, and I am ready for drab by the end.

Punishment? Some of us would rather sacrifice comfort for style.

We are baking here in Kansas! Love my beautiful nylon panties, but I had to switch my cute cotton ones and cotton bras also. I sleep in a t shirt but I sleep with my fav cotton bra. It’s just way too hot right now. We are looking forward to cooler temps in the Fall…then back to all nylon!

I wear satin panties every day no matter the temperature. Underdressing is the only chance I regularly get to dress and I will always take advantage of it.

Yesterday I was in my short shorts a tank top lace cotton pantie and a lace bra without padding it was 90+ out. Today capris a heavy tee shirt cotton pantie and a padded bra with a jacket on its 63 Plus boots the water is deep.

For me, if I don't wear some form of non-cotton underwear, I get serious chafing on hot, humid days. I typically wear slip shorts as a result. Win-win.

Certainly the final presentation of a woman is amazing but the process leading up to it equally satisfying. Showering, shaving, putting on the garments and makeup is so enjoyable it's worth not wanting to go back to drab what ever the agony to be endured. The somewhat restrictive feeling of the clothing and finality of the look can make me feel being locked into femme mode which I wish could last forever. If only...

I never really looked at it that way, but maybe you're right.

I do love my cinchers, girdles, shapers and padded panties. I often wear more than one at the same time.

I have a corset or two, but I've never figured how to lace myself into one, and I don't have an assistant. Maybe there's a sticky for that.

It is strange for me, a body briefer a girdle and a bra, with forms and a dress,
just feels right to me. Sure sometimes in the heat it gets to be much. But that
is when the air conditioning inside is good. Pick a good movie and just enjoy.

It is more torture for me to be dressed in men's clothes.
Mens pants and a shirt, is not comfortable at all for me.

As a number of replies have indicated, one characteristic of women's attire that is not so evident now but, in the past was accepted as normal, was that comfort was secondary to appearance. Women (and I'm talking about the UK here, so very hot weather was uncommon) would go without hosiery, slips, girdles, etc. only in very restricted circumstances - in their own garden, on a country walk, on the beach, for example. Otherwise, the expectations of the day would be followed. A girl/woman not wearing stockings was pitied because it was assumed she couldn't afford them.
Once or twice my then fianc?e was persuaded to remove her stockings on a warm summer day when we were at the seaside and doubtless felt more comfortable doing so. She would leave her suspender belt in place and the stockings would go back on as soon as the weather cooled down or we arrived at a place where she thought bare legs were unacceptable. It was more unusual still to remove stockings when she began wearing a girdle because that had to be taken off as well and, it was even more difficult, put it on again later.
