Tonight I am driving my wife to an airport so that she can go visit her family in her country. She hasn't seen them since before COVID, so she's going for a month.
That in itself is a great opportunity for me for the next 4 weeks.
The airport is 110 miles away and I have a bag of clothes hidden in the car. After I've dropped her off, I'll be finding a place to change and driving home en femme, which is a bit of an adventure for me.
Never driven that far en femme before and I can't wait.

I have done some similar runs. When wife was somewhere on business i would go full en femme and drive around the neighborhoods . Toughest part was getting out of house dressed as the driveway has automatic light and my car was 30 feet from front door . That has since ended with cameras etc . Have to bring clothes with me and dress in car.

That is awesome Holly.
The first time I drove en femme I was so afraid that someone would see me.
I was scared out of my mind, It made me super nervous.
Now I have done it enough times that it is great.
Nobody looks your way, they are all concentrating on the road ahead of them.

Stopping to go to the bathroom is the only tough part for me now.

One time I was at a drive thru restaurant, and one of the patrons inside saw me at the
drive-up window. He was about to make a fuss, My food came out and i left.
I was miles away in minutes and that is only a memory for me and him,

Enjoy your trip,
Drive safe. :)

I have made several long distance drives over the years to visit my parents some 400 miles away and loved dressing for the long drive. I hope you enjoy your time en femme as much as I did.

@HollyGreene just make sure you will NOT refuel before your trip (and throw away or at least properly stain your male pants at the airport for extra motivation).
On my second long distance drive I used self-service pump that I paid in a machine next to it, but I felt so secure, that I went inside anyway just to get a bottle of water and had to queue to pay for it. As I was approaching my destination I still had enough fuel, but I stopped to buy another bottle of water.
When you are away from hometown, boundaries on what you are able to do seems to move a lot farther.

First time I drove dressed, I was out of town on business. I got all prettied up in my room, and snuck out the back door of the hotel.

It was around dusk and I was following this car. A young boy was in the car and kept looking back at me. I was totally freaked out because I was sure he made me.

Holly, Relax and enjoy the drive.

I have driven to places such as Southampton, Aberdeen and many places between both.

Even the few minor interactions I had with the police. e.g. unexpected diversions etc, were always polite as they had more important things to do.

Exciting! Heels or no heels? How tall? That would be my big fear - getting my feet messed up!

Sophia's question, "Heels or no heels?" is a valid one. If you're not used to driving in especially higher heels doing so for any length of time can be very tiring. Modest heels or flats will make the journey more comfortable and if you do decide to stop somewhere you can always slip on a higher heel for your time there.

Changing in the car can be a bit of a faff. It's surprising just how confined a space you find yourself in and no matter where you park, you'll always have someone pass by. You just have to go with it.

I've driven in heels many a time with no problems, but not long distance. Longest probably 45 minutes. The heels weren't as weird as the idea of wearing shoes at all, when I get in the driver seat the shoes/flip-flops/whatever come off before I even move the car, so much more comfortable and better control too!

I like to scout hotel lobbies with private bathrooms. These work well if all stuff ? clothes, makeup, and hair are in a suitcase.

To answer some of your questions...
I found a remote corner of a large
supermarket carpark. The rear and side windows of my car are tinted so it's almost impossible to see in. I was able to change on the back seat.
I was wearing a summer dress with which I matched some wedge shoes that have a similar look to espadrilles. They're about 1.5" high, so comfortable to walk in, and comfortable to drive in.
The supermarket also had a fuel station where you can pay at the pump. I deliberately changed first before refuelling so that I'd have to do it en femme. I've often refuelled my car en femme, so I had no problems doing the same. Nobody looks - they're too busy fuelling their own cars.
The drive home was uneventful, but I loved every minute of it.
At home, I can park right outside my front door, and a tall hedge separates me from my nearest neighbour, so it's no big deal arriving home en femme. As it happens, it was getting dark by the time I got home, so had anyone seen me they'd probably thought it was my wife.

In 4 weeks time when I go back to collect my wife, I'm definitely going to go en femme for most of the journey.

Around every 6-8 weeks or so, I get an opportunity to drive a 2 hour round trip that I can spend en femme going and returning. I have to change in the middle of it and change back before coming back, but both ways I can be full en femme. I used to be concerned about people seeing me. Many years ago, two guys once did and were pointing and laughing at me. Now, I don't care. When vehicles aren't right around me, I like to hike my skirt/dress up and rub my hosiery covered legs. So, so, so nice!

Holly, I'm really glad you've gotten the opportunity to do this! Make the most of the 4 weeks!!!

I've scouted out some places near me. I can usually find an isolated part of a multistory garage to park in. Once I'm in girl clothes, I have no problem putting on makeup in the car. Just like any GG. There was also a GG who regularly did her makeup in public om the train.

I drove to Florida in April of this year from Wisconsin. Although I did not go fully fem, I wore a skirt and underdressed complete with hose. I stopped for fuel and also picked up some items from Walmart and Target along the way. This was way out of my comfort zone as I am closeted. But oh what an experience! Only heard one little chuckle as I walked to my car at a Walmart in Florida. I was a bit concerned when I stopped at a MacDonalds in Alabama and went inside. But no problems arose. Even when in the hotels, no one seemed to care. "The times they are a changin" and for the better I might add. Meg

When I know we're going on a road trip my wife always asks if we have enough gas in the car.
Of course we do. I filled it this morning.

Enjoy the trip @HollyGreene

I always make sure that the car is in very good working order so as not to break down somewhere in a small community and I follow all the road rules religiously so as not to be stopped by the cops while dressed "en femme" when driving long distance. I usually drive at night and change into my "en femme' clothes in the car. The neighbours are so close, it's stifling.

Maybe it's me but I've always found that driving is heels in more comfortable, my foot falls better on the pedal

My first and last driving experiences.
The first one: I was traveling for work and decided to go driving around in femme. I was so ecstatic, that I did not realize I did not have gas in the car. I was wearing high heels, and a kind of short dress. I had to walk almost half a mile back and forth with the gallon of gas. It was late night, and I was soooooo embarrassed and scared!!!
My last one: A road trip from South Florida to Washington state. a 6 day driving trip. I sent a parcel with all my male clothes to my destination. I did not want to have the chance to chicken out!!! I made the whole trip in Femme. Eating, stopping at gas stations, checking in in hotels, I even did some shoes and clothes shopping. It was so exhilarating!!! I cannot wait for an opportunity to do it again!!! The only thing it would make the trip even better, it would be to doing it together with other CD and share the experience...

Have a good drive home Holly. I used to drive dressed quite a bit when I was doing field service work. Always an adventure.

After a few quick neighborhood drives over the years, I was dying to try driving a longer distance while dressed. My home was private, so there was little chance anyone would see me leaving my driveway. I had no nearby neighbors to worry about, so I decided to go for it. My plan was to drive about fifty miles...I was still pretty nervous about being out in public, so I made sure I had a full tank, and decided to make it a night drive.

After I left the small roads and hit the highway, I was shocked at how absolutely comfortable I was. Even at night, when a car passed in the other lane, there was a glance over, and I was loving it. I enjoyed catching my reflection in the mirrors. I really felt at ease. The one wrinkle? I was in the NYC Metro area and everyone was apparently heading to the Hamptons. So, what should have been an hour plus drive, became a three hour drive...But, that trip allowed me the freedom to be a bit more bold. No looking back, enjoy the trip, Ladies!
