After I got done shopping at Albertsons I was loading the items into my vehicle.
Some woman called out, "Is that you, Connie?"
To which I replied in my masculine voice, "No, I'm John".
She didn't seem surprised with my name and my voice, but I'm sure she was. She wished me a happy day and I did as well.
I was wearing a above the knee geometric pattern dress with sandals. I also have painted nails, hair below my shoulders, and a bust.
So I look enough like a genetic woman so that I don't get any reactions when I wear a dress, which is virtually all the time.

If some woman mistook you for Connie, then I have to assume that you pass pretty well, at least in her eyes. :)

...or maybe she knows a crossdresser who goes by the name of Connie...

Cute story.

That is funny. I'm sure you gave her a topic of conversation that will last for days

I guess I would have inquired, "who's Connie?"

You didn't say if you knew this woman or not?

If you didn't...how awesome!

If you did...how AWESOME!

No, I didn't know the woman. Also my voice is decidedly not feminine as I sing second bass in my church choir, down to C2, two ledger lines below the bass staff.
