A lot of the girls here seem to report that they are very tall, like 6'2" or 6'3" or taller.

The average height of men in the united states is 5'9" with a standard deviation (SD) of 2.5" to 3.0".

95 percent of males are within 2 SD, so a male 6'2" to 6'3" would be at the tall end or the normal distribution curve.

Given the number of tall girls here, I wonder if there is any correlation between CDing and height.

BTW, the average height of women in the US is 5'4" with an SD of 2.5".

Since I'm 5'9", I'm at the tall end for women, but not so tall that I would unnecessarily stick out.

Anyone dare to report their height in flats and in the heels you would typically wear.

I'm about 5'10 in flats. I have heels but due to my height being on the higher end I save the heels for home use and pretty much only wear flats when I'm out and about.

6’2” barefoot. Day to day I wear jeans and tennis shoes. Heels with nicer outfits. I don’t try to disguise my height, because even in flats I am taller than the majority of people I encounter.

As for a possible correlation, the problem is one can’t draw any inference from ‘a lot’. I do recall a stats professor mentioning that at least into the final quarter of the 20th century, that a very close correlation between the US stock market and the whale harvest through out the century.

I'm about 5' 11" in flats, and haven't had an issue with being out dressed up.

A couple of years ago I started a thread asking how tall the members were. I found that I was about average.

My problem of height is when I'm in a male mode... I?m too short as a man but I'm lucky to have a good height as a woman. I?m 5ft5 in flats.

I used to be 6?2? but over the years have srunk down to 6? in flats but I?ve noticed more and more GG?s that are just as tall 6? . I had a best friend that passed in an auto accident and she was 6? in flats her boyfriend was only 5?8? so looked a little weird with them. I really don?t see the problem with height anymore as women are getting taller in recent generations . Just my observation though so take with a grain of salt.

I'm 5' 7" - slightly below average for a man, slightly above for a woman. I do not stand out either way. It makes blending in easier as I do not have to be concerned with things I cannot change.

I'm 6'1.5" in flats so approaching six and a half foot in 3 - 4" heels.
Half a lifetime ago when I regularly went to local CD meetings fully dressed it was commented on that we were all taller than the average GG but when surrounded by like-minded souls it is not a problem.
On the odd time I ventured out in the wild solo, I did feel like a Giantess but other than the occasional glance never encountered any negative issues; that said I had had a fair chance of at least blending if not actually passing in my 20's.

I think you also need to factor in age. Those 25 and under are taller than the generations that went before. I have a daughter who's as tall as me. Going out and about it's a regular occurrence to encounter younger females pushing 6' or beyond.

I'm 5'10" in stocking feet and I don't feel I stick out that much if I wear a kitten heeled shoe when out clothes shopping. In pubs a 3" heel doesn't make me stand out head and shoulders above all the other females there.

5' 5 1/2" in flats.

5'9' with my current spikes. I have to wear a size 12 women's shoe or it won't fit.

5'8" here. My father was 5'7", and my mother was 5'1". I was destined to be short.

I am 6'4". As I tell everyone who asks, Why would I measure myself with shoes on? How tall am I? Tall enough to know when to duck. That's all I need to know. Lol I wear the highest heels possible. Use your imagination. The way I see it at 6 4. I'm not gonna pass for short anyway. So I might as well look fabulous If i'm gonna stand out for looking tall. Also note as tall as they are, I never wear a heel, I can't walk in.

5'11" barefoot - I usually wear 3-4" heels, but only at home. I don't go out in public dressed. My height and male features would be a dead giveway

I am 5'11" on my feet. Always felt conscious about that when out, especially in vanilla world. But, I love my heels and they have to see some sunlight now and then too.
Over the years I have lost a lot of the fear and concerns about "standing out" and now I just own it.

Genifer: I'm not gonna pass for short anyway. So I might as well look fabulous If I'm gonna stand out for looking tall.
Love it, Genifer!

Lately I have been doing more low heel and flats though, and there is something very relaxing about that, to be honest. I got me a pair of women's Sketchers that are just the most comfortable shoes ever, and I have several pairs of tall flat boots that are just waiting for cooler weather to begin.
Latest addition is a pair of black women's Crocs Kadee's that my wife bought for me. Yes, you read that right, my wife bought them for me! Lots more to share about that soon.
She has been raving about hers for a while and I have to admit they are super nice. So light and comfy, definitely a casual summer shoe.

Im 5?8 1/2 on a good day so happy in that I can blend a little better. Love it when my wife wears heels and is taller than me.

5"10" here. Size 12.

I've touched on this before about passing. We can really pass well in pictures by ourselves. I know, or at least I feel that I pass pretty good in pictures.
But, around most GF's the height and big feet are always more noticeable.

I last measured 5' 8 1/2" without shoes. I usually go out in 3-4" heels for dinners. I do have lower wedge sandals and flats, but I only wear them when I will be walking more.

I'm 6ft2 and I wear 3-4in heels.

Luckily in Prague there's quite a lot of tall folks, so I don't stick out much. In female only group, yeah, I would tower over them, but in general public I'm just really tall woman, but there are people as tall as I am with heels all around.

Just over 5'6", so short for a guy, but, about average for a woman, I like to wear 4 inch heels, as well as making me feel more like a girl, heels also let me experience what it would be like to be taller.

5'9 barefoot. I saw a GG in the mall the other day who looked 6'2 mind you her partner was about 6'4 so It didn't look odd.

I'm 5' 6" and love heels. Unfortunately I have to settle for more conservative heels if I wan't to walk realistically. Perhaps the highest heels I've got that I can do that with are a pair of wedge espadrilles that are about 3".

Barefooted, I am still six foot. My heels are 3 1/2 inch. My guy shoes have a one inch heel. When I view pictures of myself among the women and other males in our extended family I tower over everybody but my son who is 6 foot 3, barefooted. I'm an in-home dresser, but if I was outgoing I'd do better, visually, among tall Scandinavians.

6'5 and thought heels and me would never mix.
Though after a recommendation on here I bought some kitten heels and absolutely adore them. Have resigned myself to standing out in a crowd, I'll have to learn to own it!

I laugh because I get asked all the time, How tall am I in heels? but really who measures themselves in heels? Now I see a lot of people reporting their height in heels.

I have to ask the question: Have you actually measured yourself in heels? It doesn't work the way you think it's not strictly math. A 6 inch heel doesn't add 6 inches of height. There's the triangle and geometry, and it's actually somewhat less. And it also depends on the size of your foot. Just wondering, if anyone's actually measured themselves with heels on? If so what was the reason?

I'm 5'8" in flats. I know many women as tall, and taller, than I am. I don't wear heels so that is never a consideration for me.

I finally checked and I haven't shrunk with age. I'm still five foot seven, barefoot.
my issue is that I have short legs and a long torso. This makes finding the right size difficult.

At age 21, I was 5 11 in flats. Now, at age 69, I am 5 9. The shrinkage is enough that I seem to fit more into the mainstream height range than my younger self did when among the local GGs.

I am 5' 11" with flats. I wear between 2- and 2.75-inch heels but only in the house since I have not ventured out in public while dressed. Lately, I've been watching what women wear when they are dressed casually. It seems tennis shoes and sandals with a very small heel are what most women are wearing this summer. As fall and winter approach, I am curious to see if the heel height will increase since we don't have to deal with snowy conditions.
