Ive read more than a few times that crossdressers tend to be more technically minded people that have careers and/or degrees in areas like computer sciences, engineering and other sciences. Do you think this is true or a stereotype? My degrees are in chemistry so I certainly fit the mould. You??

I think I have a degree in life and situational awareness along with a high degree of critical thinking. The word stereotype is just so finite.
In my profession, my daily attire was Carhartts or supplied uniforms with an occasional blue collar. There were times I could feel my lingerie underdress as I restored power to a facility by slamming a 4000 amp switch back to the closed position as way more highly educated people observed from a safe perimeter I'd established. Of course, only after identifying and alleviating the original issue. I do have a big fat folder of diplomas, certificates, licenses and awards somewhere around here.
I don't believe I fit in any mold (US) or mould (UK, CN) of which you describe.

My bachelors was in Nutrition and my minor was Herbal Pharmacology. I'm currently learning C+ coding for a hobby now and maybe later for a retirement side gig programming.

I'm totally technologically involved.

There was a meeting, that mold has been destroyed! ;)

I am highly technical, mostly electronics.

I would agree. I?ve also read that those of us that are musically or artistically gifted also fall in the technical mind set. I fall into that category. I enjoy writing songs, or just sitting at the piano and improvising and have a grasp of portraitures in oil. Some may consider these attributes as feminine, so be it. I enjoy how my perceptions influence my dressing.

I'm a technically minded person too, but I never before linked that to crossdressing, so this is new but interesting info for me.

I'm data analyst and I'm going to start learning Python at the end of this month during my week off.

The "funny" thing is that I have no formal computer science education except high school lessons. But I had computer since I was like 10 (almost 30 years ago) and I love messing around with it, so I somehow learned a lot of stuff during the years.

I have a Ph.D. In computer science. In my experience, people with technical degrees also tend to have musical talents. Not all, certainly, but many do. To do well in a technical field, it helps to have a creative mind. This draws people to other creative pursuits like painting, writing and music.

I have met a lot of CD's and trans women. What I've noticed are a lot of white collar jobs and a lot of musically inclined individuals.

I have an Engineering degree, but, I think crossdressers come from all walks of life and from every background.I don't think there is any correlation between being technically minded and crossdressing.

My diploma says engineer. I don’t really call myself one though

Uber technical, and I don't mind bragging about it since my degrees have some pedigree

BS, Applied Mathematics, minor in economics, Brown University, 1975
MS, Operations Research, from the Engineering Dept. of Stanford University, 1980
MS, Electrical Engineering, Virginia Tech

Life-long Systems Engineer, from 1975 until I retired in 2023. I worked in various disciplines, including aviation, telecommunications, Air Traffic Control systems, System Safety, Cyber Security, with a few others. I actually designed, developed and deployed systems for Air Traffic Control, including surveillance that put aircraft positions on the air traffic controller's screen.

I would be happy to acknowledge that a broad cross section of humans engage in cross dressing.

Sometimes Steffi, where's airline stewardess on the list?!

I've never been an airline stewardess, even on Halloween. I'm not necessarily programed to be nice to strangers, especially rude strangers.

But, I have interacted with stewardesses away from the airport.

I've told this story before, but on one Halloween I was out dressed with a bunch of TG friends at a local hotel bar. A group of (real) stewardesses had collected in the lobby. I walked up to them and said, "I really like your costumes!"

35 years as a public health officer, mainly specialising in food hygiene and food control. Then after early retirement, a period of constructing and repairing dry stone walls, had to stop that due to joint illness. And finally before full retirement, some years driving coaches/busses, and chauffeur driver, and an assistant in the funeral business. Not sure how that fits with th technical side.

Sorry, but this thread has turned into a job roll call. Not CDing related.
