Hi all,I have been dressing inside the house for as long as I Remember, I recently discovered wigs and realized I could put on a wig that is not my natural color and go out and not worry about anyone seeing me in a dress.
It has been a lot of fun!! thought I would share.

Wonderful Alanea! Enjoy it thoroughly! A warning however - it is highly addictive!

Alanea, I have started going out recently and once you realize how invisible you are out there and you start breathing normally the world is open to you.
Have fun I am.

I so envy you gurls. I have a lot of work to do before I can even imagine such an experience. I edge closer everyday with the guidance and encouragement all of you provide me. For this, I thank you all. Love and Kisses, Meg

Meg,

Imagine you're in a large hall and there's 10 people in it You will notice all of them, they will notice you and every one else. Now put 200 people in that hall. You'll look at a handful of them and a handful of them.......

This is what happens when you go out shopping. You're one in a crowd and most people are too busy doing their own thing to take much notice of those around them. And once you understand that and you're confidence grows you act ever more naturally and you blend in even more... and you're confidence grows... and you blend..... It's called hiding in plain sight.

And trust me on this, I don't pass close inspection but I'm able to move around and be almost invisible to those around me. Yes one or two might read me, but we pass like ships in the night.

The only red zone I consider is leaving and returning to the house.
"Who's the blond with the big boobs driving your car? And how long is she staying with you?"

Thanks for sharing Alanea. I have not been outside dressed for so long now, I would go for a drive and find a quiet place for a short walk when it was dark. Once the kids got older and stayed up later than me, it was always going to be a challenge.

Bravo to You! You took the fun & excitement up to the next level. Did you notice that there were no mobs with torches and pitchforks coming after you, or people pointing and giving off a screech like Donald Sutherland in Invasion of the Body Snatchers? Hardly anyone notices and even less care. Have fun with your next outing (and there will be a next one).

I've been to professional crossdress/transformation places and to be completely dolled up head to toe and go out into the world is amazing to do, by the end of the week I went abroad last year and dressed each day it was normal, I couldn't hardly wait for her to finish the makeup so we could go for a walk among the populace, so thrilling!

I am so happy that you got a chance to experience the wonderful sensation of being dressed out in public. It is so liberating to be out and about, showing the real you to everyone.

This is what happens when you go out shopping. You're one in a crowd and most people are too busy doing their own thing to take much notice of those around them.

Except for a group of teenage girls. They will notice and they have no filter. They will whisper to each other and giggle.

I wouldn't go out today looking like I did 20 years ago. It's all part of our development. You'll never learn to swim if you don't jump in the water. Keep it simple, don't overthink it. Try not to be creepy. Lol

It's like a breath of fresh air or a taste of sunlight.
We all want it and once we have it we just want more.

I agree that the tricky part is going from house to car and vice versa. But being able to freely walk around outside when dressed is very exhilerating

So exciting! I am not yet so brave, and feel I have a lot to work on my presentation, but am growing more confident and comfortable as I go. I love hearing about people?s experiences, especially the positive ones. Thanks for sharing and encouraging us!

There are a lot of things that can be done within one's own comfort zone. It's easy to tell somebody to "Just Do It!" but there is only one person who has to bear the consequences if the trip does not work out. My first forays outside my home were evening drives under the cover of darkness, followed by parking the car and strolling in a safe neighborhood.

So far this year, I went out 5 times. Also, I went outside dressed to get the mail. I don't stay outside long because I could get noticed. Also, I went outside dressed last year. Crossdressing was not meant to be enjoyed inside only, its to be enjoyed both inside and outside. :)

I do not feel like a woman. I just like the clothing. I used to feel like I had to present female if I wanted to wear the clothes.
I snook out in invisible ladies' clothes occasionally (shorts, hose, top, keds) and took walks. No one noticed. I wore hose and shorts in public some. I went to the bank once. No one noticed.
One early morning walk, I decided to wear a skirt with shorts build in. When I came upon people, I pulled up the skirt, and they were none the wiser.
BUT, a couple times, I came upon other people or they rode a bike up and passed me. I had always assumed that people would point and laugh. Instead, they smiled at me.

At some point, I had an epiphany: I could wear a skirt as a dude. I did not need to present female. I tried it and people treated me with respect. Some people would look -- most would look away if I made eye contact.
Some would tell their friends and they might giggle quietly together. They tried to hide it, but I knew. That was tough. No one was mean.

Now, 20 years later, I am still doing it, but people almost never giggle. This stuff is talked about more, and they aren't as surprised. People still don't know whether to say hi or just look away. But, if I act normal, they react normal. I don't feel as awkward as before.

I like to say that it used to be like a face tattoo. It was different and scary/uncomfortable for others. But now, it is more like I am carrying a basket of pineapples. It is different, but not very remarkable.

Of course, people can be different in different places. I live in the US southeast, where there are a lot of conservative attitudes/morals/etc.

That's so nice to hear! I haven't ventured outside yet but my wife's planned a trip for us to go together for next year and I really can't wait!

Same journey I took Johanne. I wear skirts, hose (always) and heels every day as a dude. I have grown my hair out, have a stylist who keeps it blonde for me, and a nail tech. But still a dude.
