I bought a new bikini yesterday at a thrift store. It was actually brand new, but that's not the point of the story.
When I checked out, the lady rang up the bikini, which was my only item, smiled and said "Are you going on vacation?"
I laughed and said, "Yes, but not anytime soon". She sighed and said "Same here, but wouldn't it be nice!".

Fun comment, and actually on point. I am in fact going on vacation in just a few weeks, and ... I am considering bringing this bikini, or at least some kind of swim suit (probably a one piece though).
Missed opportunity really, I should have just told her that 😁

Hindsight is a wonderful thing Suzi. Its difficult to differentiate between a nice accepting conversation and/ or being creepy. Sometimes you get the right vibe from a SA which sounds like the case here.

That was a nice conversation. Next time you?re there you mention that you had the chance to wear the bikini while on vacation!

It's really hard to judge the comment. If you were en femme, it would have been a great compliment. But, I usually shop for girly stuff en homme. Then the comment would have taken on an entirely different meaning.

Steffi, I was in male mode, but carrying a purse.
I am sure it was meant to be a funny comment from her side, but she did not have that typical Wink Wink Notch Notch smile on her face that I have seen many times before from checkout people when I have bought female clothes or shoes and they make a comment like "That dress will look good on you!".
I should have carried the conversation further, maybe next time. I have no problem with them knowing the female stuff I buy is for me.

Good for you, Suz. If I bought a bikini for vacation it would mean my wife was on vacation and I'd be sunbathing in the backyard.
