After 70 years my journey starts to womanhood. Today was my first HRT treatment. It will be a long trip before I will be what I wanted to be.

I wish you all the best on your journey. You may not attain what you want to be, but I suspect that you'll be a lot closer than you have been. Hopefully you find yourself much more content than you have been.

Best wishes to you, we are close in age. There can be some bumps in the road ahead. I was surprised with the mood swings that can happen
Just hang in there and you can do it

Glenda, most likely you will feel a lot calmer when you go on HRT. I have been on estrogen for over 12 years, and believe me, I don't experience the depression as I used to. I also don't drink alcohol to excess as I used to. The HRT has made my appearance feminine so I can wear dresses without looking like a man in a dress. Of course, your voice will not become higher unless you train for it. I am almost a basso profundo, but people don't seem to react to my voice while dressed en femme, which is virtually all the time. By the way, I'm 72 years of age. Enjoy your journey.

Just to let you all know I'm 77 and starting now I can't wait any longer. I need to be me. In a few months I'll legally change my name to Glenda Charlene

We always hear about women "who go thru the change." You've taken that to a whole new level. Congratulations. I just turned 79 and cannot imagine telling family and friends at this age that I've decided to FULLY embrace my feminine side. Enjoy your journey.
