I honestly don't recall when it was I lost a hoop earring, but it's been quite a while. Some of you may recall I hesitantly asked my wife if she had found it - which she hadn't. Like I mentioned, I don't recall when it was I lost it, but I suspect it's been close to a year ago.

A funny thing happened tonight. I was sitting in my recliner in our family room when I heard something fall on the floor. It turned out to be a bolt that had worked loose from my recliner. Time for a repair. I got out of the chair and turned it upside down to start inspecting it in order to locate where the bolt came from. Aha, I found the spot. Because I needed both hands to try holding the 2 parts together, I asked my wife to hold the chair in place. After a failed attempt at lining up the 2 parts for the bolt, I determined I needed to change the position of the upside down recliner. As I moved it, out fell a hoop earring. Although no words were necessary, I felt compelled to comment, "Well, so that's where that earring has been hiding." Bottom line is I now have that earring back.

It's great you found it. Always nice to have those little wins in life.

Those of us in the closet I'm sure have all experienced those moments of panic when something, an earring, false nail, an item of clothing, goes missing and despite desperate searching it can't be found and the huge relief when it unexpectedly turns up.

I'm so glad you've found it. As a man I always liked hoop earrings on GGs so when I started CD I bought ones that don't require pierced ears and are the perfect size I wanted. I would probably took my apartment apart if I had to lose one.

I have lost a few over the years. With clip-ons they tend to get lost more easily. Since my wife is "Tolerant" but does not participate, I always hope that I will find them. A couple of times one has mysteriously appeared on my dresser without a word.

Have you ever noticed that, just like socks, it's always the left earring that gets lost?
Always!

With me it’s always the right, but I’m left handed.

So, the question on my mind is: Do you still have the other ear ring?

I always find that when you lose something, if you don't find it immediately then it only turns up after you've all but forgotten about it - like this!
