I have some medical issues all related to Agent Orange exposure in 1968. One of those is chronic kidney disease. Up until 4 years ago, I saw a private practice nephrologist where we lived as my closest VA facility did not have one on staff. But, we then moved and I quit visiting one. Recently, my VA primary care doctor ordered an ultrasound of my kidneys and bladder. Today was the day for it.

When I arrived, I was taken into the room where the ultrasound was to be done. I was asked to lay on my left side and pull my shirt up. The ultrasound of my right kidney was done. Then I rolled onto my right side so she could do my left kidney. At this point I've no idea if she could see the lace panties I was wearing. Next, "Please lay on your back and pull your slacks down below your hips." Yep, she's going to see my lace panties now. This is not a daily occurrence, but I want to be prepared when it does happen. I suspect she was surprised to find this grizzly old man wearing panties , but I could not have cared less. Wearing these things is what I do 24/7. It is so much more enjoyable than wearing briefs and a male "guard." This was likely the first time my panties were in full view of a medical care person. I knew when I went there this would be the case and I truly didn't care. It is such a nice feeling to be able to accept this part of me when given the opportunity.

Heather congratulations on going wearing what you wore and had the courage to as well. I go to doctors all the time for almost two years now. It?ll be two years on January 1, 2025. All the doctors I see have my male name for insurance billing issues but have my female name on all my charts and when they call me for procedures tests or follow up appointments it?s Michaela. So sorry to hear about your issues with agent orange but wish you the best in recovery and kidney function. Doctors and medical staff don?t care period. They see it all the time. There?s so many more coming out in the past 10 or so years. I?ve personally been lucky in not having any problems with anyone in the time I?ve been out. Take care 👩🏻*🦳

I think that the correct address is to say "Thank you for your service."

I believe that wearing the uniform of their choice has certainly validated your right to wear whatever you want.
My Hero brother secured a righteous settlement from AO poisoning.

First of all thank you for your service, and sorry you have to deal with issue of agent orange
Secondly it is a different world today and the doctors and nurses are used to it and it really doesn't bother them. I live en femme 24/7 and see my Dr's that way
Thirdly, you are who you are, enjoy the rest of your life being happy

My local VA facility has posters in the hallways indicating treating service men and women in the LGBTQ+ community is part of its mission.
