I was the host for a group of people on Sunday.
As usual for me I dressed up for the occasion. A blue and white playsuit with a cream blazer. Sadly no photos to share.
It began with 16 people attending but eventually ended up with just 8 ladies and one male.
I found it a little daunting at first, trying to remember everyone as I introduced new members.
Everyone came at odd times which helped.
Eventually we were all there and ordered meals and drinks.

I sat at the end of the table and had four ladies close enough to me to be able to chat with. The others at the end of the table were too far away to hear us.
I have to admit that I do like to seat myself with those I want to talk to and this was no exception.
One thing that came up after lunch was people's history. We were discussing the film ?It ends with us?. It is about domestic violence.
All of the ladies around me had been married twice and all had a tale of abuse in one form or another.
I am accepted as one of the girls and I don?t think any of what I heard would have been voiced in the presence of a male.

In reading other posts mentioning those who like to use makeup. I can say that very few of the ladies bothered with much makeup. It looked mostly like eyeliner and lipstick.
Speaking of lipstick I was trying out a new colour I had purchased a month or more back. Being a strong pink I felt it was more of a spring colour. This was a different style to what I usually wear as it was very moist. I mostly wear long stay products. One of the ladies got a peck on the cheek instead of a hug and I left a large set of lip imprints on her cheek. OOps.
I got to talk to all but two people and overall I thought it was a success.
It must have been ok as I was there from eleven thirty until four in the afternoon. First in last out.

I'm curious about your "group", Philipa. All females and one male? A club or group from work?

U were the only trans?

It is wonderful to be included as just another one of the girls, isn't it?

So sorry ladies I was a bit late replying to some comments.
To Sherry. The group I was with in this instance just happened to be mostly ladies.
The group is called Stitch and operates in the US too. It is open to men and women over 50 who are just looking to make new friends.
Verona. All it takes is a little self confidence. Most people even if they realise you are a CD are unlikely to say anything.
Fiona. It is quite unreal to be part of the group, it still amazes me.
Joann, Blue, Jenn and Bridget. I am looking forward to another meeting with these ladies.
