Today was For Beauty "expo" nearby and I wanted to go since August, so I decided I'll go there early in the morning - they opened at 10. I woke up at 8 and got out of the house shortly after 11. Where did the time go?! I just had a breakfast, shaved, put make-up on, dressed in pre-prepared outfit and left. Yet I was 1 hour late! HOW?!
Anyway, I drove there and arrived at about 11:30, spent about 2 hours there and I bought some small things, at different stalls two scented candles (Christmas presents for GG friends) and mainly body lotion. And here's the thing: Czech and Slovak languages differentiate between male, female and neutral versions of some words (maybe like Spanish?) and the body lotion lady at the end used clearly female version and I'm tripping on it since. Then shortly after at one spot a group of 4 people in their 50's was taking a photo, so I stopped and waited not to photobomb them and one of the men said to the photographer "Hurry up, the lady is waiting." It felt so great! And to top it off when I was leaving I passed by a friend, I was literally next to him and he didn't give me a single thought So blend in as a woman: Mission passed :)
Then I went to a mall for grocery shopping, because I needed some things not available in our local store and in the mall I went to a clothing store I was last weekend at, where I loved a white short faux leather jacket. I tried it on again and I really love it, so I took it as well as red beret, that I was planning to buy too, just online. But since I was there... :) Then I bought last few things from my list in some other shops and headed home.
So today I was seen close up by hundreds of people without weird looks, I talked with several, I drove my car in high heels, I bought things in brick-and-mortar shops incl. clothing and was undeniably accepted as a woman in two separate occasions. One of my best days ever and I totally enjoyed it!
PS: Phrases like ?Will you pay cash or by card? or ?You can have x or y? or ?Do you like more a or b? are neutral in Czech, they aren?t differentiated. So one can?t tell if others would use male or also female versions.
