I'm here without power after Milton kicked our asses, fortunate over all but still we're guessing a week away from electricity and hoping to be able to buy gas for the gennys before we run out. My wife is in another state taking care of her mom, I thought I'd be dressing cute like crazy. But no, I'm working on the property damages, trying to keep the gennys running, fixing the well, taking care of my workers as best as I can, etc. No pink fog, closest I come is wearing yoga shorts and a tank marketed for women, which I was wearing answering the door for one of my guys when he came by to borrow a tool.
Now I'm alone with no expectation of visitors, but I just don't care to change clothes. Seems weird, since I could put on literally anything I have, but I don't care.
Weird.

Understandable since you just made it through to the other side of a hurricane! Glad you made it though OK. I think about dressing and gender constantly but sometimes getting dolled up just doesn?t happen even when there is an opportunity. I feel you, it can be weird why we dont always jump at every chance we get.

not weird, human. some times other parts of life are more important and too much hassle.

I completely understand and know what you're going through.
We got hit hard by Helene. Two trees on the house, another across the driveway, and a very large oak across the back fence.
We are grateful to be alive.
Then power was out for a week and a half, and it would have been a lot harder without a genney.
I haven't had a dress on until this morning.
Our #1 grandson and his SO's house was destroyed, and they are staying here.
Please know we are here in spirit for you.:hugs:

I got out light compared to you and Davida, but I understand. We lost power for 3 days from Helene. I spent a lot of time feeding gasoline to the generator and making sure the extra 6 people in my house did not turn on turn on too many loads when my air conditioning was running. That and driving all over creation trying to find gas and food when traffic lights were out was enough to make me totally forget about anything to do with crossdressing. The good news is that now that everything has all settled down for us, my desires to dress up are coming back.
I think it is understandable that you changed your priorities for a while under the circumstances.

I agree with Sandi that priorities certainly can change things. I know I would be the same as you.

You sound exhausted and like you are comming down from a multi day adrenaline rush. That literally biologically changes things so you aren't yourself. I wouldn't read anymore into it than that. Glad you're ok and I hope you and yours stay that way.

That's what I truly enjoy about being a crossdresser and not trans. I'm sure I could spend days on end dressed as frilly as possible but my man card is something to be proud of.
Maturity is the proper alignment of priorities. Don't worry. You'll have some foggy days ahead.

Speaking of man card.
Are we the best of both worlds? Get dolled up and have a blast doing so when we want but also put our man back on when we need to make sure we take care of things that need to be done.
Now please don't get on me for leading you to think that I am saying that women cannot get things done. That is absolutely not true. But GG's here will know that at times they can be held down in a Man's world.

OAG, not weird at all. We can take care of our desire to dress after all our needs are taken care of.

Hoping all who are recovering from the storms are safe today.

I?m sorry for those of you that are having so many storm related difficulties and hope you recover your lives back asap.
I?m feeling likewise although for different reasons. Major move across country, very unsettled, dealing with expected and some unexpected family issues. CD?ing seems like worlds away and not even on radar. Kind of sad yes, but also agree, the brain decides what is important

Not weird at all.
Life's priorities come first. We always do what we have to do and when we have the time and the inclination then we do what pleases us.
Your interest will return.

No way is that weird at all. There are many things in life that are more important than CD'ing for many of the ladies here. And in an emergency situation like this, other priorities are way more important than putting on a dress.

I hope u recover quickly, OAG. What a nitemare!
Reminds of the time I was dressed over the top. (Sherry? Who would eve4r believe that?)
On the way to an event I was the salami in a 3 car collision!
I was running around seeing if the other drivers were ok. Then, checking damage and exchanging insurance info.
It wasn't until I got in the car to drive away that I remenbered I was dressed scantily and wear 5" spike heels in broad dayite!:tongueout
And, the other drivers never said a word or even looked at me funny!:daydreaming:
Priorities r real!

Wow, thanks all. I really like Natalie's "best of both worlds".
I managed to buy gas today, it was getting scary there. Still no power, still not done fixing the damage. And still no urge, just exhaustion after 15 hours of trying to reclaim normality.
Haven't shaved in 3 days, going to look like Bea soon.... :)

Many of us have been in situations when it was just impossible to dress as we would like. Hang in there. There will be more opportunities later.

This is where I sort of agree with Carla (#8) when it comes to opportunity to dress en femme and it is passed bye. There have been many times when I have had the opportunity, even to the extent of my wife assuming I am dressing while she is out of the home for sometime, and I don't. Situation like a natural disaster call for a response to the immediate peril which brings my thoughts back to some ideas my PTSD therapist espoused to me. She holds that each male and female has some DNA in their genetic profile of the opposite sex; in some it is more than others. I think when there is peril my male DNA is dominant. When I was slogging through rice patties as an infantryman in Viet Nam I had zero interest in anything other than honing my senses to keep me alive. Post war, when trying to escape bad memories I found it natural for the feminine genes to awaken or become dominant. Some chose alcohol and drugs, while me and probably others chose escapism in a female mindset.
I am fortunate my area of the country does not experience tornadoes and hurricanes but we're waiting for one of our volcanoes to start acting up, lie Mt. ST. Helen's did in 1980.

Not weird at all. Life is made up of priorities, both easy and difficult. You and so many others have new priorities. Thank goodness you made it. Yes, Helene and Milton did a tragic number on Florida. We had a home on Longboat Key, but sold it several years ago. I can?t believe the damage to Siesta Key, Longboat and Anna Maria. It?ll be a long recovery. Best to you.
