I stopped at a nail salon I frequent before a recent event. There was a woman in her late 20's/early 30's at the table next to mine exploring with the tech a good color for her for one of the high-tech nail treatments. She looked at my nails and complimented me on my choice of color. Then she asked me for my opinion on on what color/pattern to pick. I pointed to 2 or 3 on the chart and she tried the third. While I was at the dryer her conversation with the tech turned to other things. I am pretty certain she went with my recommendation. Sometimes you are just one of the girls.

I was getting a pedicure and there was a GG at the next pedi chair. I guess she was watching me get my pedi. That time, I got a deep ocean blue.
She said, "You really rock that blue."
I said, "You could really rock blue if you wanted to."
She said, "Blue is not a good look on me."
I'm thinking, "To each her own. Maybe you should try blue (again)." But I just left well enough alone.

I just love the camaraderie of a pedicure. I always chat to whoever is close to me.
What colour are you having is a great ice breaker, and nearly always is " I wish I could have nails like yours".
This usually comes from the nurses who only ever have their toe nails done.

Feel sorry for the nurses.
Nurses are generally not allowed to have manicures because of the risk of spreading germs to patients.
I'm not sure that I understand why, but those are the rules.
A TG friend who worked as a nurse first told me about these rules.

How odd Steffi. Don't the nurses wear gloves when being hands on with a patient?

Definitely no fake nails, and they must keep their nail length short so they can properly clean their hands and nails. Probably no bejazzalnig. Not sure about gel either.
As far as I know, as long as the nails are short they can get color and have them manicured. At my salon they call it a sport manicure, designed for people who work with their hands or active in sports, gardening, or the like.
