Does anyone else feel the need to constantly have clothing/shoes or other items on order? When I check my delivery orders and it is empty I feel the need to buy something. It keeps me in pink mode longer I think. I love that feeling of new items arriving especially when I am unable to dress for a couple of weeks.
The longer the pink fog is present the more I need girly stuff.
I think I am addicted.
Oh well. What is the worse that can happen?

Verona, I can totally relate. Retail therapy is very much a part of my dealing with the pink fog. Not getting enough opportunities to dress, the process of selecting, ordering, buying girl items helps me cope. I find I buy more things than I really need, but whatever. Yes, knowing a pair of panties or something else is in route is comfortingly. The other non-dressing ways I cope is washing, arranging, sorting my stuff. Again, whatever it takes.

The worst? I don?t mean to be a downer, but, if you really feel addicted, that can lead is poor and or impulsive decision making with consequences for your relationships and financial well being, among other things.

I have to agree with Kim, Verona.

Till it's under control and it's few dollars here and there, then it's ok, but when it gets out of hand it can become very ugly very quickly. Just lookup some shopaholics video/documentary.

You know that we support each other here, but we also try to protect each other from mistakes and that's why we have to mention this. I had to set hard limit on myself and now I'm getting an allowance once a month on my account. Once I spend it, there's no more money for Marketa till next payday. That's a way how I make sure I won't spiral into some debt or something.

But till it's under control and in manageable amount, enjoy the ride :)

Yes Traci
You have hit the nail on the head, you fully got me. It is the hours of searching, adding to basket, going back to check that is the time consuming part and probably the part that keeps me coming back for more. Then waiting for the delivery and trying the items on. It?s like Xmas every day.
Kim and marketa. I probably used the wrong word when I said addicted, maybe too strong of a word, but addicted non the less lol.
I spend very little and when it is clothing it is always pre owned as I am very thrifty. I always return or resell my unwanted items also so the amount I spend on female clothes is minimal, also I spend very little on male drab clothes either as I have an extensive wardrobe and look after all my clothes very well so I probably spend 1/4 of what my wife spends per month on both my male and female persona.
I am also very comfortable in life so even though money is not a problem I am still very thrifty.
I am what is know as tight as a ducks ass. in the uk lol.

I seriously do think that my wife is a shopaholic though

Hello Verona,
I totally get what you are writing about, as there were times in the past when buying things for me was threatening to get out of control.
That's great if you can limit yourself in terms of budget so that it doesn't threaten your lifestyle. Addiction is bad if it has bad consequences. If it hasn't, that's called a hobby!!!!
And you have an excuse: I live with a woman who doesn't buy clothes all the time. I guess living with a shopaholic must be tough!!!
I have two tricks to limit my purchases :
-a global monthly allowance for this kind of purchases, like Marketa;
-and another trick: I use to scroll sites a lot to look for items. But instead of buying them instantly, I just put them in the shopping cart, as if I had an infinite budget.
In the end, there are so many things in the cart that I feel like someone who has eaten too much: I get fed up and stop this activity before having bought anything.
Or, I suppress all the items which are not my utmost favorites, and in the end, there are only a few left. Then maybe I proceed to the payment.
But I have a last solution: instead of buying, I save my preferred items' pages as favorites on my web browser, and postpone the buying to the day after for example. Usually on the next day the item looks not so nice/unavoidable/new than on the day before...So in the end I usually don't buy it.
But I have a great collection of favorites, and when I really want something, I know where to find it!!!

All the best anyway, and congrats for the red shoes, they look lovely!!!!

Cheers,

Rose :rose2:

Pink fog is probably the missing element in global warming experts' calculations.

Not to worry Diane
There are plenty of ladies in this forum who do a good job of dishing out the warning signs even though the forecast is clear.

I try to stick to a yearly Danielle budget but I do find myself often online browsing and saving items or putting them in a shopping cart for buying later. Even though I have discussed with my wife my budget and I do not exceed it, well sometimes a teeny bit, she still rolls her eyes when a new package gets delivered.

Verona, if I began going thru all Sherry's things stored at 3 different addresses rite now and worked 24 hours a day? It would take me about 3 days to just see every item.

And, yet I'm still ordering or picking up new stuff all the time.

My question is, does that sound worse or better to u?:tongueout

Steffi has a monthly budget. And, she pays cash for almost everything, so no cash, no goodies.

She does have a small mad money account if something really outstanding comes up, but that has to be replaced from the next month's budget. Lately, I've been slow to pull the trigger and some of the clothing that I really liked went off the sale price or ran put of stock in my size.

Yes you definitely have to live on a budget. I figured it up and spent almost $3,200 this year on all my purchases. I would say the best thing though is I don?t owe much as most purchases are on credit cards I have one for $500 and another for $2,000 that?s the one I have to watch out for it?s kohls and that?s where the most is spent. Luckily I only owe them $61 and my other card is $124 . It?s expensive being a girl for sure but in my opinion worth every penny.

I do more shopping than buying - I do budget for more expensive items (bras, shoes, dresses) and wait for sales or discounts - ah the thrill of the hunt

If Victoria would stop texting and emailing me about her Secret being on sale all the time, I wouldn't have such a problem. Not my fault. :)

I do love the shopping too and have spent too much over the last 6-8 months building up my girl closet and vanity. My girl side has developed dramatically lately, especially now that my wife completely accepts this side too, so a lot of things were needed.
A couple of full immersion girl vacation trips over the last few weeks also triggered a lot of clothes and shoe purchases.
We have a little bit of extra money available right now because of some other things that happened, so that helps.

But, we are frugal and thrifty about it!
We do not buy expensive things, love to hunt for good deals. Favorite brand is "Clearance" ... French I believe 😀
We both have great fun together going through the local thrift stores and take advantage of the discounts.
One store we go to has $0.99 per item for any clothing on Tuesdays, so we can get 20 things for $20. Can't beat that. We find a lot of new clothes, still with the original tag on, and lots of other clothes as good as new.
The hunt is fun!

I have a monthly budget that I stick to which is hard because I love lingerie and always want to buy more things than I know I should, but oh yes the pink fog hits me hard when it hits me and I have to resist urges and temptations a lot.

Now I see why people love to have a walk in closet I could fill one clear full of beautiful clothing and still want more.
I currently have a nice drawer set with a closet in it that I keep all my beautiful cloths in and I need more space lol.

I fill my online shopping carts and then use pretzel logic to justify purchases like, "Well, instead of having a five star restaurant meal I just had a PB&J so that means I have money to spend on girl stuff."

I am also very comfortable in life so even though money is not a problem I am still very thrifty.
I am what is know as tight as a ducks ass. in the uk lol.

'round these here parts we call that, "tighter than a bull's ass at fly time."

I use Temu, takes a couple of weeks to get to me, but reasonable clothing at a cheap price and the sizes are pretty accurate these day, so yes I constanly shop online with them, the trick is to put things in your basket and leave them there, dont buy them, After a few days they start to discount your items in the basket eventually they are half the price of when you chose them originally. Happy pink fog days girls, lol

I would rather shop Brick & Mortar stores where I cansee & feel the items,

Every so often I feel guilty about having so many clothes with price tags on them. When that happens, I put on a buying freeze until everything new has been worn at least once. 😉

I recently started rebuilding my wardrobe as I had purged 2 years ago and for about 6 weeks the Amazon truck was stopping at my house several times a day and I was visiting the mall at least 3 times a week. Now that I have a start to a new wardrobe things have calmed down. I still live in a 24/7 fog and shop online daily while at my desk, but it is more shopping vs. buying. I have a list of what I still "need" and just look online and visit the stores on a regular basis. If I find a really good deal, I will buy it, but the Amazon truck now only shows up a couple of times a week and it is not just wardrobe anymore. I think the shopping is a type of therapy as long as I do not buy eveyrthing.

Oh yes! I am constantly shopping the sales of my favorite stores. My main addictions are panties and nail polish since I am an "underdresser" 99% of the time.

This reminds me I have some nail polish in my mailbox right now!
