View Full Version : Transitioning is a Pain

It's been 4 months since I started transitioning. I didn't like my body hair, so I got laser treatments so now I don't have body hair but it does have some pain but it's worth it.
Then I didn't like how my eyebrows look. So I got microblading. That's 2 hours of tattooing and I need to back for so more but they look great. But it did hurt.
Then I wanted my beard gone. Since it's gray they can't laser it I need electrolysis. It's 2 hours every time I go. I'm doing the mustache area first. I've had 4 treatments there and I have been in tears. But there is less bread there now.
And last I didn't like seeing that old bald man looking at me in the mirror in the morning. So got just got a hair transplant that was 12 hours and 2 weeks without wearing a wig. I won'tt see anything for 4 to 7 months and may need to do some more.
But everything do makes me feel more like the woman I want to be. I can't be happier.
Love you all for your support.

If you’re happy, and you are, it is absolutely worth it!

You are putting yourself through the crash course, it seems. I am glad to hear that the gain remains worth the various pains!

Glenda, To use the 80s saying, no pain, no gain.

And another dumb saying: "If it doesn't hurt, you are not trying hard enough!"
As long a you see the results you are hoping for, it will be worth it all.

I totally understand about the sands of time. My wife thinks heels, hose, underwire bras are a pain. I just smile. You understand.

I wish we all had the opportunity to consider transitioning back in our 30's. But for me that was a very long time ago, and people did not do that. I never even heard of it then. Even though I was a night time crossdresser. (wife worked nights). Totally in the closet.
Flipping heck Glenda , just putting makeup on is a pain !!!!, good on you girl !!, but I still wish I have the courage to do what you are doing, and I will one day, just stop telling me how much it hurts !!!!!, lol

I've done all kinds of hair removal and find electrolysis the most painful. Waxing is pretty bad too but at least it's faster.

There is a French saying that translates as "you need to suffer to be beautiful". A reference to the tedious aspect of grooming oneself as a woman. I think it applies here. Be brave!

Hi Glenda, Sophia Rose and Rhonda.
Electrolysis does hurt a little, especially around the mouth and chin. There are creams that a compounding chemist can prepare that will help with the pain. It would be nice to think that once you have had the sessions that would be the end of it. Sadly not I did this about 12 months ago and 27 1 hour sessions. I am back there again. It is near on impossible to get all of the hair at the first pass.
However when you do use a razor the way that it just glides over the face is pure luxury.
Rhonda. The more you wax the easier it gets as the hair does not grow as thick and dark. Hormones help too.

I did some hair removal before HRT and after starting, and wonder if my tolerance for pain changed at all.

The main thing is that each procedure is getting you closer to your end goal and will be worth it in the end, best of luck on the rest of your journey

Even though it sounds very painful I read that your happy with the end results and that's all that matters. My wife's biggest complaint about being a women is hair. She's alway asking me if there's hair on her face and she tried a few things but she wasn't willing to feel pain. She said she doesn't believe how fast it grows back and and a ongoing thing. I just commented to my wife a while ago that it's a lot of work to be a women and myself my biggest complaint is always shaving my chest and legs on a weakly basis. As a man if we don't shave our face for a few days it alright but I hate seeing hair on my legs when wearing a skirt, even though I don't leave the house.
It will all be worth it in the end.

I got just the top part of my mustache removed some years ago by electrolysis for about 15 minutes, just to try it out. I could barely tolerate the pain. It wasn't worth it for me. Even if I feminized to the max, I still wouldn't look feminine enough. My face is too long. Some guys' faces feminize nicely, but others of us just don't. The rest of my body would work, but not my face. Maybe makeup could somehow do the trick.
