Oh my what a night and day.
That is last night where I went to see a friend in the city.
At home here on the coast the sea breeze was in and was quite pleasant. A different story in the concrete jungle where there was just No breeze.
My friend had asked me to show here some makeup tricks. What she did not tell me was that most of her brushes were on their last legs and heaven only knows when they were last cleaned. And then we got to her eye powder palettes with just a tiny amount left around the rim of each container. She had certainly got her money's worth there.
I did take a couple of brushes and we worked with what we had. I will go to Sephora in the sales and buy her some new brushes.

We walked to the restaurant and it was warm (a euphemism for sweltering) and had in mind that as we were eating inside we would be comfortable in the A/C.
How wrong we were as the A/C was overwhelmed. The place was packed, so we were almost sitting shoulder to shoulder with other patrons. The noise was overwhelming and the heat was being circulated by overhead fans.
In no time flat I had little rivulets of moisture running down the side of my face. I worried only just a little for my makeup as the setting spray really holds thing together. I attracted some looks for other ladies nearby when I brought out my paper fan and started waiving in front of my face . They were looks of envy ratter than clocking me.
I should have just stuck to a salad but I do love Ravioli. A hot meal only makes you hotter and I just kept dabbing around my face with a tissue. The foundation was staying in place.
By the time we left there was a slight breeze happening. There were lots of revellers around now and some were a little worse for wear. We had a very young Irish guy address as "girls" lol.
Back at her apartment we sat and chatted while we recovered in the A/C before watching The Danish Girl.

Today back out into the heat for brunch with another female friend.
At 10 am it was beginning to warm up but we found a table near the water in the shade and a gentle breeze. Once again I have full makeup and wig. It was pleasant but began to heat up as we ate. At least this time I had on shorts and a tee shirt..
I was again beginning to glow with the heat and began dabbing at the moisture with a tissue. Oddly my friend who was also hot did not seem to have the same problem.
Another hot meal (bacon, eggs, toast and tea.) it seems I didn't learn from last night.
After we had eaten it was time to wander the shops and step into the A/C. Ahhhh.
When we parted company and went our separate ways the temperature had hit 46 degrees in the carpark. HOT leather seats are no fun in shorts I can tell you.
Another 40 degree tomorrow but I know my makeup will stand the heat.

Yikes! Its melting your makeup, its a wonder you didn?t faint!

46 C is altogether too hot for me. Fortunately, I reside well north in the opposite hemisphere, where yesterdays high was -7 C

I'd gladly trade locations with you - it was -3 F here last night.
I find heat much more tolerable than cold.

Philipa Jane, I'm glad I'm not the only girl who caries a fading fan in her purse. Sounds like a lovely time, other than the heat.
