On Valentines Day, I spent the day in drab mode doing chores. In the afternoon I made my wife's favorite dinner, pasta carbonara, and made her favorite dessert, a chocolate cake with fresh raspberries. She set a nice table with candles, etc., and we sat down to eat. (I stayed in drab). We had agreed not to get any significant gifts, but I had printed out a humorous valentine cartoon, and had it printed and laminated for her. She handed me a my present, which was a little zipper pouch, about the size of an index card (3" x 5" or so). It had little hearts all over it, and I said I loved it, which I did. She said -- look inside. There was a necklace with two hearts on a chain. She said "I thought Joanie should get something". This is why I love her.

A very thoughtful and accepting gesture. It's nice to see how you obviously love each other.
