View Full Version : New heels and dared myself to walk to my office in them.

I recently purchased a pair of Oxford Heels made by Dream Pair and absolutely love them. They have a 2.7-inch clunky heel and I find them more comfortable than some of my male shoes. With today being Presidents Day, I knew the office building where I worked would be nearly vacate, including my office, at the time I typically get in. My company gives us a Floating Holiday in lieu of the actual day off. With more confidence in my acceptance of being a crossdresser and slowly beginning to blend my feminine side with my male mode, I dared myself to head to the office while underdressed and wearing the Oxford heels. I underdressed in all white (bra, bodysuit and nylons) with a white male polo shirt and jeans. Since I am always the first one up at home, it wasn?t any issue to walk out of the house wearing my heels. Drove to the office and had to get out to open the gate to the parking garage. There were a handful of homeless people sleeping on the opposite side of the street. I could not tell if any of them were awake, it was 5:30am. Drove down into the garage to where I typically park and then paused. Was I really ready to do this. Got very close to putting my regular male shoes on but didn?t. Figured it would be some time before I get a potential opportunity like this again. I exited the car, walked to the garage elevator bank, took it up to the lobby, walked past the security guard who happened to be a young man I never saw before and entered the elevator that goes to the floor our suite is on. My heart felt like it was going to explode out of my chest and it seemed like every step was amplified in my ears. I got into the office and the felling was euphoric. I?m 1000% certain the security guard saw my heels. I had the office to myself for several hours before the next employee came in. I figured since I walked through the lobby, I would keep my heels on. Had minimal interaction with the two employees who came into the office. Knowing there would be more people working in the building when I left, I did switch to my boring male shoes. I haven?t had a chance to fully dress in several months, but this experience is going to give me a pink fog high for many weeks to come.

Back in May 2020 I bought Cole Haan leather booties with 2 inch heels for just $30. I now wear them when I'm grocery shopping. :)

Sweet story about your sexy footwear and the brave steps taken in them. Makes me happy.

Misty, those shoes look great!

I too tried something like this once. Once. I never did it again, because I felt I endangered my job in doing so and thus endangered my family's financial situation. I've decided never to do it again until the last week before I retire. In fact, I'm thinking about having a impromptu DEI meeting about people who present a gender different than that assigned at birth, and doing it en femme. Certainly a great way to go out with a bang, and there's not thing one they'll be able to do about it.

Thanks for the memories, Misty. And, for reminding me how far I've come.:battingeyelashes:

I wear women's boots with 3 1/2" heels in drab without a second thot now. To date I can count the folks that noticed on one finger. My disapproving adult daughter!:heehee:

Of course, I have no ankle charm! So, r u going to push your boundries again?

If anyone comments tell them these were in the men's section. You like the height. Just like Tom Cruise.

Without the ankle bracelet I wonder if anyone would even comment or notice
I like Natalie’s idea about them coming from the men’s section

Julie,
Thirty years ago when I first started my career, I had the same fears about the impact to it and the financial impact it would have if I was discovered. My style of dressing did lean towards the risky side (super short skirts & dresses). I am now closer to retirement than when I started my career. The “old school” professionals have retired and I am now part of the senior leadership in the firm. Our company DEI initiative is very progressive and the younger professionals amaze me at how accepting they are of others. We have four openly gay men, two lesbian women and one binary person in the office I work at. I would be na?ve presuming word has not spread around the office. I recognize it was very risky on my part doing what I did. I am drawing inspiration from those who have walked before us and taking little steps in blending my two personas.

Ameli,
I have no issues driving in them.

Natalie,
Love the idea. I am a bit taller than Tom, but think I could sell it.

Before I retired I worked in the business district of our small city. Every year there was a fund raiser" Walk A Mile In Her Shoes." Some guys donned female flip-flops which really did not meet the spirit of the event. There always was one or two who wore a narrow high heel in the classic sense. The women in my office always huddled together and conjectured who was walking too adept and discussed whether he was a cross dresser. If he wasn't a cross dresser he surely had a lot of practice walking on concrete sidewalks. Your clunky heels really wouldn't take much practice not to topple over. When I take an evening stroll en femme I wear a wedge with a two inch rise that has a rubber sole. That deadens any clicking on the sidewalks and thus does not turn heads.

Misty, Those are lovely shoes. My great aunt, who was born on 1885 and died in 1984, always wore shoes just like those even into her late 90s.

So I did it again, wore the heels into my office this morning. Woke up 45 mins before my alarm was scheduled to go off. Decided last night I was going to wear the heels while driving to the office, but would change to my normal male dress shoes once I got to the parking garage. When I arrived at our building, the gate was down. This required me to get out of my car to wave my access badge at the card reader. There were several homeless people on the sidewalk near the gate. I’m sure a few of them got a look at me when I exited and entered the car. After parking, I had that pause, questioning myself if I was going to keep my heels on. My heart wasn’t pounding in my chest as much like the first time but I was nervous. I told myself I did it once, I can do it again. As I walked to the garage elevators, a car passed me. I just kept on walking as if everything was normal. Have no idea if the person noticed or not. They were rushing to a lower level. Most likely a building employee late for work. Entered the lobby and the security guard was engrossed in some video he was playing on his phone. Worked for nearly two hours before the next employee arrived. I even exited our suite to use the restroom while wearing the heels. I finally changed to my male shoes when the third employee arrived.
