It's ANZAC day here in AUS,
I don't celebrate as I'm war torn,

A NICE friend of mine asked today, if that was why I turned GURLY!

For those of us impacted by our past, has it changed our world?

I'm so so happy being the GURL i was meant to be.

Your "war torn" so what would those Aus and New Zealand soldiers who died would think if they were alive today.
They died for you and I and for you to feel "war torn" tsk tsk.

I'm assuming you fought in Vietnam or Iraq. Even if I am incorrect, it is clear that the experience has left you severely traumatised!

Your aversion for war and conflict, the pain and suffering you experienced and witnessed, run deep, to the point where you cannot bear to commemorate ANZAC Day.

I get it! Even if there are some who don't.

War! What is it good for? Absolutely nothing!

Stacy, is ANZAC Day more like Veterans Day or Memorial Day on the USA?

I can answer, doc. ANZAC Day - 25 April is the equivalent 11 November in Europe. Poppies etc.

On 25 April 1915, the Anzacs landed around Ari Burnu on the western side of the Gallipoli peninsula with the loss of 5,000 casualties. The landing site became known as Anzac Cove. On 25 April each year, ceremonies are held across Australia and New Zealand to honour those of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) who gave their lives in that campaign, as well as all Australian and New Zealander men and women who have died in subsequent wars.

As well as at Anzac Cove, where my daughter has attended. Also, here in London.
