View Full Version : Call me Sentimental

I don?t know what it is, probably that human , and sometimes more feminine need to connect and interact. I don?t know how many here feel extra good when somebody from this forum pops by your page and says ?hi? or comments on your post. Even when I see someone new that merely stopped by my page, I try to drop a thank you on there?s. Just saying it could go a long way towards making this forum more friendly instead of only sharing what you wore, did , said etc. hope I wasn?t too ranty. Peace, ladies

Some would call that being social or polite, Jocelyn. If their contact made u tear up? That's sentimental.
I think you're being nice!:hugs:

Joss, I totally agree that reaching out to compliment others is a very good part of this forum.
No, not too ranty at all.

I think those who are thoughtful enough to send a thanks or a PM are the glue that binds the community together. I should try to be more thoughtful!

I have always thought Jocelyn was kind, friendly and helpful. Like many others I appreciate that.

Everyone likes a thank you or a compliment. It makes you feel good and valid.. As a CD it can mean the world. In male mode we get very few. There are a lot of good people on here that are very kind.

Debby, there definitely are, but I think there may be room for improvement. This was just an observation. You do you, I?ll do me :)

Nothing wrong in asking for little gestures of kindness. I think a lot of people share here what they think, do or wear because they have very few occasions to do so outside of these forums. I also found members to be very supportive when you are asking for help, advice, or feeling blue.

Hello Jocelyn, I'm a returning member, and I came across this post. I have felt the same way at times. Being a crossdresser is often times a very solitary thing for a lot of us. CD social clubs are few and far between and making friends in real life that also dress is so tough. Its nice to receive a compliment or a kind word from time to time.

I?ve you?ve read this post, and are in need of kind words or just interaction, reach out. No judgment, it?s that simple.

I read a lot of posts, but don’t generally respond. Hmmm, maybe I should respond more often. . . Thank you!

In general I find the forum very friendly and welcoming, but your comment is certainly worth consideration. As stated above, this situation most of us find ourselves in is frequently a solo or limited interaction with the world. It helps to have comforting relationships here. Personally, I have no one to discuss my cd thoughts or actions with besides this forum. Could be a lifesaver, who knows.

Well stated, Traci.

Sounds like a community of friends and from what I see you have one. You are correct it doesn't take much, just a little time . Love Jean

Because of the time difference I often respond to posts but they can never be in real time.
So replying one on one is impossible. Joycelyn it looks like you could almost be holding a conversation on posts.
I do like to thank members who comment on my posts but I don't often reply to individuals.
I do read everyone's replies.
Thank you.

Philipa,
Regardless of the time change, it means so much that you have taken the time to respond. I understand many here still work full time and have families, I?m in that boat. This thread has over 3000 views, with 19 responses(some of them mine!) I?ve been guilty and have been work on doing my part, if only just a few words of thanks or encouragement. Thanks to all who viewed or responded. I hope something here resonated.

I wish this forum had a 'like' or 'laugh' or 'heart' reaction button for posts. So many times I see posts that I wish I could do that for, and the only way to show appreciation is to respond in the thread. But, if you have nothing to add to the thread, it's just a bare post. Likewise, I make posts and it's rare that people respond to me. I don't need to prop up my ego :) That's not the point. It's just...the interaction. I wish it were possible.
Meanwhile... yes, a visitor message is nice :) I'll drop one right now :)

Joss,
Good thread and I am a frequent reader, infrequent poster. I usually don’t have a lot to add to threads and tend to only post when something truly resonates with me or I feel like my feedback/voice needs to be shared. This is typically when I want to speak to other non-vocal readers who need to know that not everyone on here is the same or at the same point in their journey and that any destination no matter how short the journey may have been or will be is perfectly acceptable.
I started off posting a lot and have dramatically rolled back to very rarely these days, but I still read a lot and enjoy posts. I too sometimes wish a simple like or acknowledgement feature would be useful at times, but I also realize how that could water down or diminish actual useful feedback and positive affirmations, no matter how genuine they truly are.

:yt: there's always these emoji critters, in lieu, of a like button.
Joss makes an important point; in theses times, if were not getting support from each other, where are we going to get it?
Love the responses.
Everyone has reasons and I am guilty myself not interacting a lot after doing Mod duty’s .
But I need to make more an effort like I did when I joined 20 years ago when joining.
My hope for the forum is always everyone makes friends and has support and feels this is a safe and welcoming place here.
Great thread.

Thank you everyone! I never would have guessed a simple post about how I feel in my heart would draw over 5000 pairs of eyes. Not a picture . Not an experience going out or interaction with other people while out, but my take on the experience here. A few of you actually reached out to me personally and my heart melted. If you want THAT interaction, you might have to make that first move. I?m open to it and will return all messages. Enjoy your day 😁💋
