Long story short a friend of mines son goes to a University of arts of music school and they have a performance night coming up and some parents wanted to surprise there children with playing a song at the end of the show and they needed a guitar player. I told him I don't pick up the guitar like I used to and with the arthritis in my fingers I'm very limited.
I meet with the other parents last night and they wanted to play a song but also make it humorous at the same time. Some suggestions we dress up like the rock band Kiss or play a AC/DC song and I suggested we get long hair wigs and play a Led Zeppelin song. One of the wifes suggested we play the Robert Palmer song Addicted to Love and we could dress like the girls in the music video and she could dress like Robert Palmer and sing. I haven't seen this video in years and she found it on her phone and boy did some memories come back. I don't know if anyone here has ever seen the video but the women are all dressed in short black dresses and bright red lipstick and definitely not playing the instruments.
I was more of the outsider and they agreed to it and asked me if I was ok with it, well you know I was. I'm not going to get into much more details but one parent looked down at himself and asked what are we going to do with our package. I must say this was the first time I had a discussion about cross gender that was very civilized. One person said he believes trans and cross dressers should show it after all they have it and why hide it and I was very pleased with the calm discussion that did have a lot of positive opinions.
When I got home and told my wife what they had in mind and showed her the video she gave this look like I was behind it all. I told her "I swear it wasn't my idea". I told her that one of the wifes is willing to alter some dresses for us but the real problem for them was were are they going to find black heels for men sizes. I didn't tell them I have a few pairs of black Stilettos
I explained to her what one of the parent said about there package showing and my wife laughed and told me she knows me to well and the minute I slip my leg into a pair of pantyhose I going to have a big package to deal with. Wow! I never thought of that, I may have to hang the guitar a little lower.
I'll keep you all in the loop and hopefully some pics but I have to go practice now, got less then a month to learn it. And I swear it wasn't my idea.

Thanks for the great support and wishing me fun. My only problem is they all know each other because of there children's interest. They seem like down to earth people and are much younger then me but as much as they try not to leave me out, there were a lot of conversation that I felt left out, I guess they have there own inside jokes. We are going to have to practice together soon and I'm not going to over try to fit in and just try to be myself but threw most of the decision making I was kind of left out in the wings. It's great to at least have my friend there and like I said I didn't get into much detail but it sounds like there not really trying to perfectly remake the video but instead maybe look like men wearing dresses and make it more funny. I think I'm going to be a little uncomfortable when we have a fully dressed rehearsal and I'm going to have to reveal my shaved legs and hairless body. I will try to have fun with it but just hope I make a comfort connection with them so I could feel more comfortable especially when it does come to trying on of fem items.

I think the fears are all in your head.
I am currently reading a book that deals with the idea that if you worry about the things you cannot control then you are destined never to fulfil your dreams.
So in this case you are worrying about others seeing your shaved body. Ignore this. No one is going to say anything and if they did just ignore it.
It can only impact you if you allow it to. You cannot control what others think, say or do.
You can only control how you react.

Ill give a little update, early in the week I talked to my friend and he told me that one of the others didn't like that we were being humerus about this. He thought we should play something more challenging and serious to show there children that there parents are talented musicians.
I'm not into social media at all but all at once I start getting requests to join chat groups and each one is missing one person of the group, so my first thought is this must be social media gossip and there most be another chat without me in it. Just curiosity I started reading some of the chats and one of them thought we had a great idea and he already shaved his legs and tried on his wife's pantyhose and thought they felt great. Another one said his wife's black dress fit him and his wife is going to see if her mother has a pair of black shoes because she has big feet.
Half of the time i couldn't keep track of which person was missing from the curtain group chat and I'm at a age where I don't have much patience for this so I just got out of them all. I don't know what's going on anymore with this I didn't really have time to practice the song anyway but I have a feeling after reading a little of what they said we might be getting a few more members here.

Maria, decades ago in college I was part of a club that had a few parties every year outside of our normal club functions. Leading up to one of these parties, one of the officers of the club ("Jill", we'll say) suggested it could be a crossdressing party (both ways). A lot of people jumped on it, thinking it would be really funny. I was both excited and terrified. But, as the reality of what the guys in the club would have to do began to sink in, excitement for it started to wane rather rapidly. I suspect there may be a similar effect happening with your situation.
