View Full Version : Are men getting breast implants?

Cross-dressing is a form of gender expression that involves wearing clothing and accessories typically associated with the opposite sex—for example, a man who enjoys dressing in women’s clothing.

Transsexuality, on the other hand, involves identifying as the opposite sex and often includes a desire to transition physically. For instance, some trans women (individuals assigned male at birth who identify as female) undergo hormone therapy, breast augmentation, and sex reassignment surgery. These individuals often adopt a feminine identity in most areas of life, though they may not have female reproductive organs such as a uterus or ovaries, and thus do not experience menstruation or PMS.

While researching these topics, I came across an unusual trend that seems to fall somewhere between crossdressing and transsexuality: men who are choosing to get breast implants.

What struck me was the contrast—at a time when many women are opting to have their breast implants removed due to a growing “return to natural” movement and concerns over silicone-related health issues, some men are now choosing to get them.

There appear to be two main motivations behind this trend. The first is aesthetic: some men want a more muscular, defined chest and turn to pectoral implants to achieve that “gym body” look.

The second is more unconventional: men who simply want to have breasts—shaped like women’s breasts—not necessarily because they identify as female or want to transition. Many of these men don’t take hormones, don’t want to alter other masculine traits, and don’t intend to change their gender identity. They may identify as crossdressers, non-binary, or simply as men who enjoy having breasts. And yes, some of them are opting for breast implants.

Traditionally, many crossdressers and gender non-conforming individuals use breast forms or breastplates to simulate breasts. But these can be uncomfortable, feel artificial, and are easily removed. Some individuals grow tired of this and decide to undergo surgery to have their own breasts—real and permanent.

Of course, that permanence is a double-edged sword. Breast forms can be taken off at any time, while implants require surgery to remove—something many women who regret getting implants can attest to. For men, this permanence can create challenges in social and family settings, especially when presenting in a more traditionally masculine way.

There’s also the social reality: women are generally not attracted to men with breasts, and society doesn’t typically respond positively to this appearance. Some try to conceal them with loose clothing or other means.

With implants comes another necessity: a bra. Though some of these men already wore bras for comfort, style, or size testing before surgery, they’ll now need to wear one regularly to support their new breasts—especially if the implants are larger. For many, there’s joy in finally filling out a bra with something that’s truly part of them, rather than using external padding.

There are also practical concerns: implants add weight, which can lead to back pain or posture issues, much like with women. Plus, the freedom some men take for granted—like going shirtless in public—is often lost. Society may no longer view a man with breasts as someone who can casually go without a shirt.

Another barrier is that not all clinics are open to performing this type of surgery on men, as it remains relatively uncommon and may be seen as controversial.

As for me, I don’t think I’d go down that path. I’m not in the best shape, and I already have some chest fat that can be nicely shaped with a good underwire bra. It’s cheaper, more comfortable, and far less invasive than surgery. I guess I’m leaning into the “natural” trend myself.

That said, for those who genuinely desire to have their own breasts without the hassle of external forms, implants might be a satisfying and affirming choice.

– What do you think of this trend?

– Would you consider getting breast implants?

– How would you feel about having “real” breasts?

The ideal, but not physically possible, would be "real" breasts that you could fill when you wanted them and empty when you don't
Unfortunatly, human skin is not that flexible and when "deflated", you would have these empty flat pancake breasts on your chest which would not be very attrative in male mode.
So, for now, I'll resign myself to wearing a breast plate as that is what I've found for me comes closest to having "real" breasts.

I wouldn’t mind having breast implants.

Wasn't there a guy that was a gambler and bet somebody a large sum of money that he would get breast implants? I seem to remember reading about him and seeing a photo with no shirt on.

He had them that is for sure. I think he said that some women liked them.

For me to get them. Wow I thought painted toes, shaved legs, earrings was enough.

How interesting.
Natalie I do remember someone doing that. I am not certain but I think he turned up on The Jerry Springer Show, It was done for a bet of about $50,000 I believe. A lot of years ago now.

As for the first part of the post. As a transexual this was an integral part of transition. One that at first I was trying to disguise while I got used to the weight and shape. I was still presenting as a male at that point.
Nobody really knew about my desire at that stage (friends) and I never felt supported here at the time while I moved into my female self.
It was a big bold move on my part and I isolated myself from everyone except my medical people and my psychologist.
I didn't help my cause by my poor use of words.
I eventually left the forum and only came back after transitioning.

All of that above should suggest to anyone that breast implants are not a fad and you will be viewed as something strange even in todays society.
I would also wonder about the ethics of any surgeon doing this without some sort of phycological evaluation.

If I did it, it would be for the same reason a woman would do it - to achieve the size I want to be. I?ve talked about it with my wife and she?s against the idea and frankly, she?s against it because of the likely inability to hide them and because she thinks that I?d look too much like a woman and that didn?t marry a woman. I?m not a woman and don?t want to BE one. I have just enjoyed lingerie since before puberty. She is ok with that because she realizes that is a part of me. Breasts (at least those that are bigger that?s what I already have - which of course is not much at all) are not a part of me and not what she signed up for.

So, I?m one of the guys described in the post, I?m a man, plain and simple. I?d also love to be able to fill my bras with something that won?t fall out and is part of me. I?d like to look down and see my own breasts, with or without a bra, but especially with a bra on.

Bottom line is that if I could, I?d get them. Wife and family life wouldn?t be accommodating, so at this point, I won?t get them.

The gambler was Brian Zembic and he still has those 38C implants decades later! He said he would have taken them out if they caused issues for his daughter when she was growing up.

I have natural 32As that are a good compromise as they fill out women's clothes nicely without needing a bra.

Beyond getting my ears pierced when I retire, I am not looking to make any permanent changes.

If that?s really a trend then I?m happy and jealous of those that do it.
I would not do it as it?s way too nonconforming.
In fantasy land I would love having large breasts as a man or women. For the first 50 years of my cd participation all I ever did was wear stuffed bras whenever I could.

My cross dressing has been morphing into a breast/bra fetish as I get older, if I had the money I would get implants to take my natural B cup that requires a underwire bra to give my breasts the shape I desire, to a C cup for the shape, size and projection I've longed-for as long as I can remember.

I, as a man, don't need breast implants. Thanks to my heredity with my paternal grandmother with enormous breasts and father with gynecomastia along with my being on estrogen over 13 years, has given me a bra size of 40DD.

I am intrigued by the idea, as my growth has stalled.

However looking at some of the clinics' "before and after" photos, the enhanced breasts looked very pert and hard.

I am looking for soft and wobbly, so that I use my bras to mould and shape them.

That's the problem I would have with breast implants as well - I would want soft, jiggly breasts that have a little natural sag to them and implants, like you say, look to be very pert and hard.
That was what I didn't like about the Aprhodite breast forms I bought years ago - they looked very natural, but were not soft and jiggly at all.
The latest forms of silicone filled breastplates seem to provide the closest thing to natural soft, jiggly breasts that I've found so far.

Are they? I have never heard of this before.

Obviously everyone’s different, and there are exceptions to every rule, but if someone wants to permanently alter their physical appearance to that degree, and insist they still want to be a man, id suggest they do some research on rivers in Egypt…

Trend? Go for it. Years ago, I thought about it, but too many complexities and complications. I?m a full a cup, almost b. I still wear forms for that wonderful bounce.

They are small but they are all me!

Since I'm 100% guy and have absolutely no interest in transitioning and still would love to have boobs, I have a fantasy that a billionaire will bet me a ridiculous amount of money that I won't get a boob job, so I can get it and explain why to friends as I take them for rides in my lear jet.

Until then, don't see it happening.

There was a WWF wrestler - Goldust [Dustin Rhodes] - who considered getting them

https://www.thesportster.com/wwe-unbelievable-story-of-goldust-wanting-to-get-breast-implants-explained/

"To further raise the shock value of his character, and to make him unique to anything seen before in professional wrestling, Goldust decided to pitch the idea of him getting breast implants. Jim Ross would explain in JR's Cookbook, that Goldust even wanted a film crew present, detailing that he wanted "to go under the knife and have a breast implant procedure, making him the first wrestler of this kind in history. His vision was that it would be so weird and bizarre that our fans and new fans, for that matter, would pay good money to watch him wrestle." This could have well been the case, but thankfully, this idea was shot down."

Brian Zembic did get breast implants for $100,000. I could find no reference to them being taken out.

Someone else was offered $300,000 to get implants but declined due to the complications as part of them being removed.

I believe at my age i would opt for breast. The thought of implants and elective surgery and risks have crossed my mind. I think at this point my thoughts are with HRT to achieve my desiredlook.

I've read that. Men are getting them to resemble well-muscled pecs.

The flip side is there are men having breast reduction surgery when they're barely more than flat as a board.

Would I like t have them? Yes! Would I actually consider getting them? Well, I guess I have considered it, but it's not a consideration founded in reality. However, if I naturally came to have breasts (or even a little unnaturally :o) I'd LOVE it!

That's the problem I would have with breast implants as well - I would want soft, jiggly breasts that have a little natural sag to them and implants, like you say, look to be very pert and hard. <snip>
I read that a lot; however, as a now retired RN of 50 years, I've worked in emergency rooms ever since I started as a volunteer as a teen, and have seen just about everything. The 'pert and hard' ones can be due to scar tissue forming around the implant, or using the wrong (cheaper) type of implant, or the wrong size, etc.. Many men insist that the can spot 'fakes' every time. However, that is simply not true. Plastic surgery costs can be cheap or in the hundreds of thousands, or even millions of dollars. The best, and usually the most expensive plastic surgeons, can create augmented breasts which are almost impossible to tell from the real ones.

Like most other things in life, you usually get what you are willing to pay for; there aren't any bargain 'perfect breasts jobs' out there. Sure, you can fly to a foreign country and get DDD implants for $5000, but don't expect anything that looks like naturally grown ones.

I've dated several women with exquisitely done breast augmentations; without being told, I never would have guessed that they weren't 'home grown'. Those women were the type who were quite proud of their appearance, and seemed to love being seen nude or in very revealing clothing, and more than willing to show off the terrific work that they had done, getting those implants. The hardest things to hide are the incisions that have to be made, but a really talented plastic surgeon can hide even those.

Me? I've had boobs since I was about 9. Rapid weight fluctuations, and unintentional exposure to certain chemicals resulted in gynecomastia; A cups to start, and by the time I was in my 20's, about a B cup, which I've had ever since, even when I lost the extra weight. A blessing or a curse? Depends on how you look at it. As a crossdresser, definitely a blessing, as it gives me something to fill my bra. As a growing boy who had to start using the communal showers after physical education class from age 12 onward, definitely a curse; the teasing was a nightmare.

With me there's always been a very fetish obsession with breasts. From sneaking mom's bras to currently owning bras and forms of every imaginable size and design. The thought of having real beautiful breasts 24/7 is alluring but just not feasible. I worked with a wonderful transitioned person who, along with perfect makeup and hair and a very athletic male body, had very pronounced easily DD or larger implants. The behind the back comments were horrible but I truly respected that this person was living a true life.

Sometimes_miss - you are absolutely correct that you get what you pay for. however, most of the augmented breasts one tends to see in "adult videos" appear as obviously fake.
They are often too firm and they don't move naturally at all. Sometimes they don't even point in the right direction.
I'm guessing most probably didn't go with the best plastic surgeons or the best implants.
And the issue with scar tissue making them hard - that's probably a tough thing to predict - you could go with the best surgeon and implants, but if your body rejects them and forms scar tissue, that would be hugely dissapointing.

CarlaWestin - like you, I've had a breast fetish as well since I was a kid. Was fascinated with finding bras in the laundry as a kid and I love seeing nice cleavage and well proportioned breasts. It's been the goal of mine to fine breast forms that most closely resemble the real thing. So far, for me, breastplates have come the closest.

My implants are soft, they jiggle and they look natural.
Like any GG the breasts are sisters not twins which is something that also adds to the illusion of natural breasts.
The minor scars are under the breast in the fold and follow the natural crease.
I do remember my sister having implants and how hard they were but that was years ago now and she had them replaced.
I still live with wonder that I had this done.

This is something I've never thought of, but I would not go down that route. I recently discovered a love of wearing bras (though have not found the perfect bra for me yet), and while I would want maybe a size bigger, I would not want to go down a permanent route with implants.

I guess the bottom line is that why should the gender/identification of the individual have any impact on whether the person has implants? Take a long think, make an informed choice, but realise this is not something you can quickly or cheaply reverse.
