Learning Fashion From My Wife

Hiya All,

Just want to tell you what a great day I had not dressing yesterday. Well kinda not dressing. Spent the morning shopping with my wife and found a few things that she and I decided were nice. Got a nice new peasant top from Torrid and some new flat sandals. After our shopping trip we returned home to take care of a few chores. After completing my tasks I got excited to try on the new top and sandals. I put them on quickly and asked my wife what she thought. She began to offer her opinions on what tops went with what bottoms and the next thing I know we are bringing out nearly a dozen different pants, skits dresses and tops. She explained her experience on mixing and matching the right pieces so they naturally look better together. Gosh what a great afternoon having my lovely wife help me understand how to better use the clothes I have. After the session we assembled outfits that I will now keep together. I know I am a lucky person to have such a great wife who makes effort to understand this desire I have. Just had to brag. Thanks for listening.

Bye the way. Having your wife help you coordinate your outfits does not end up with a more tidy experience when trying on clothes after an hour our bedroom looked like a clothes bomb went off. The only difference was my wife was there to help me clean up the mess.

I love when this happens, with me its usally unpredictable. Most of the time it will start off with my wife wanted to go through her clothes and whatever she doesn't want I'm trying on as soon as she takes if off. My favourite is when we have a more formal occasion and she tries on her dresses and that's when I get the good stuff and it's so much fun asking each other how something looks on each other. My wife as much as she hates to say it tells me there is an advantage to having a crossdresser husband in those situations and to also shop with. she calls it two for one, a husband and a girlfriend all in one. Well enjoy your new combinations and hopefully another dress rehearsal will come again soon.

That happened to me too, then I woke up. Wow, I know you are counting your blessings. What a fun day. Great to have another person review your choices and decisions on coordinating clothing. Especially your better half.

This thought brought up a question for me: how does everybody organize their closets? For me, my "comfy" stuff takes up one side of my closet: first, my night gowns and PJ's, then my dresses, then skirts, then tops, and finally sweaters and cardigans. Shoes are in boxes on shelves. My wife and I each have our own walk-in closets, which we both love!

Sounds wonderful for you and so familiar to me.
Luckily the wife and I wear the same size in shoes and tops so we stopped having 2 wardrobes there and now have 1 shared wardrobe. If either finds something we discuss it, what it will go with and then model it with various other pieces and critique the look on both. It's a world apart from all those years I spent hiding in the closet and it's brought us so much closer.

It?s OK to brag. I?m also one of the lucky ones. Over the many years, her help and advice has been irreplaceable. She pretty well knows my style choices. I always smile when she tells me I look nice. I enjoy her little teasing, mostly how can I find underwires and hose comfortable. I just smile. Life is good.

I always greatly appreciate the helpful critiques I get here about Danielle’s fashion choices but nothing can beat the in person honest suggestions I get from my wife during the Danielle fashion shows she has agreed to be a part of in the last couple of years. Not just which dresses she prefers but also useful comments on eye makeup and things like if my foundation is too dark or too light.

Of course besides the practical aspects it is priceless she can be so accepting and supportive.

How wonderful it would be to have my wife help me with my dressing she might be a little shocked at some of my short skirts and dresses but maybe it?s time I dress my age. Sounds like you two have a wonderful relationship.

Isn't it great when you can get help like that!!! When I go out (usually with my wife) she is always willing to suggest what goes with what. She also loans me some of her accessories, like a bag or jewelry, the round out the look. I learn a lot every time we do that.

My wife will often help me with outfits and like you say what goes with what or not in some case. We have a different style and sizes but she will come home from shopping with something that she says will suit me. Its great have someone so understanding in my life. I often ask her if she wants me to stop wearing but always insist that if it makes me happy the why stop.

My wife doesn't give me tips, but every once in a while I'll get something like "that shirt goes perfect with that skirt!" Or if I wear something a little trampy I'll get "I wish I could wear that!" (as if the general public would shame her more than me for wearing that lace tank over a bra with a schoolgirl mini skirt!) But I love the compliments!
