I?ve been visiting my daughter in El Paso, and had a bad fall, breaking an arm and a leg. I got rushed to the ER, and of course I was underdressed. Because of my injuries, they had to cut some of my clothes off. They cut off my tee shirt revealing my white lace bralette. I told the nurse to cut that off too, but she didn?t want to. Then they cut off my sheer pantyhose and lace trimmed panties.
They sent me along to the admitting nurse who asked ?you?re transitioning, right? ? I agreed. We talked about that for a while. Further down the line, I complemented a nurse on her nail polish, and mentioned that I sometimes wear nail polish myself. She asked, ?Do you coordinate your nail polish with your lipstick?? To which I answered ?of course.?
The whole thing was conducted without a hint of shame or embarrassment. Very cool.

Wow. Sorry to hear that you've broke both and arm and leg. Happy to hear that you've been treated well though.

One extremity is bad enough, but two? Ugh! Heal quickly.

Gees, while the gender issues didn?t cause any problems, that accident is going to crimp your style for a bit I?m guessing. Good luck with the healing. Seems at least you?re able to get on the web and type without issue.

Get well soon Cynthia! That was a terrible fall but you were treated with respect, as you should be.

Underdressed? I didn't know formal attire was expected at the hospital. I get what you meant. Sorry for the broken limbs. Anything special about the fall to cause so much damage?

Oh, I'm sorry to hear about your injuries. I wish you quick recovery, Cynthia.
And I'm not surprised by the doctors and nurses reaction. I think they saw wilder stuff in ER.

Goodness that is quite the nasty spill to break an arm and a leg. I think I would not worry about the fem attire if that happened to me. Hopefully you will have a good and speedy recovery. Take care.

Hi Cynthia
First let me wish you a very speedy recovery that sounds like a very nasty fall and must be painful.
Secondly, you handled that extremely well I think if I was in that situation I would have had to be rushed to the heart department or pretended to be unconscious.

When we lived in South Carolina we had a friend that was the head of the ER physicians for a group of hospitals. He had some very wild stories about the things that he saw come into the ER. Crossdressers wouldn't even be noticed compared to some of the stuff that he talked about.

Wish someone had told you ahead of time that putting up a TV antennae at night wearing heels can be tricky.
Hope you heal quickly.

Well Carla, I wish it was that complicated. I was walking from my daughter's entryway to her living room, and forgot that there was a four inch step down between the rooms. I've made that mistake before. I don’t know why it was so catastrophic this time.

Since you are a slow learner like me, perhaps it's time to take a few judo lessons so you learn how to fall without breaking bones. You are going to fall again, so prepare....

Hi Cynthia :hugs:, I sure hope that you have a speedy recovery,
It is bad enough to brake the bones, But to have a stranger undress yoy and cut off your Pretty Things,
That is a Fate worse than Death, >Orchid**O:daydreaming:O**

The undressing was no big deal. I was actually proud of showing off my bra.

Ow!Ow!Ow! Poor kid! But you handled it like a diva.
Seriously though, I would go with Carla's story about the roof antenna and high heels. You'll get more traction on the internet. "It was a dark and stormy night...."
Blue Orchid also gives good advice: "Sky Diving is not for you".

A post that starts with breaking an arm and leg and ends with "so cool". What's not to love about CDing. I hope they all signed your plasters.

When we were young we would bounce. Sounds like you fell off a cliff.
This is not a good look for you. Get better please.

That is something I fear going to hospital locally. My wife is a nurse and we have been in the area a long time so she knows a hell of a lot of local nurses. My wife knows about my dressing but there is a good chance I?ll be seen by someone she knows.

I?m still in rehab, but I?m wearing a gray skirt and a white satin blouse, which elevates my mood.
Adding an update: finally got home to Waco. I’ve been in El Paso. I’m improving, but still busted up. I wore skirts and blouses continuously while in El Paso, and will probably continue to do here in Waco. Skirts make certain things easier.
Thanks for all the best wishes. They mean a lot.
