My wife and I are getting ready to head out with our camper soon. I was just thinking about making sure I have my shower flip flops etc. and it got me thinking about wearing those and getting dressed in the shower compartment afterwards. I struggle with being damp and slipping on the jeans or shorts. Hoping around trying not to put your feet on the not so clean shower floor. I remember how most of the woman choose to just take a loose summer dress to change into. It makes it easy to slip that over themselves and leave the bathroom. Once again something that we males can?t do, despite the functionality of it. I would love to be able to just slip on a pretty flowing dress and walk back to my campsite, the warm breeze completing the drying process.
Well I suppose I could, but the biggest objection would come from my wife of course. Stupid social rules! I always think form should follow function.

PS My camper is not huge and doesn?t have its own shower. I use the one in the campground.

See if you can find a summer-weight robe. If you can find a uni-sex or slightly femme version, all the better.
Good luck and have a great trip.
In as much as my late wife was not into me dressing, I did have nightshirts, almost like a dress. The bamboo material is very soft and flowing. They might have become a thing of the past, but many men over the years wore nightshirts. Watch some of the old sitcoms with your wife and take the opportunity to comment on bedwear. Worked for me. Traci I completely agree and know the feeling of hopping around and hoping a toe does catch to bring me crashing down. Slipping on the summer dress would be a dream.

I have a kaftan my wife bought me. It's a good compromise. It feels like a dress but it's male clothing

Reminds me of "Girls in Their Summer Dresses at The Camper" by Irwin Shower.

Traci - nightshirts can be found for men women or unisex - I wore them for years before graduating to nightgowns a couple years ago and still wear them sometimes. Check out LL Bean if nothing else.

My rv has a shower but I still use the parks showers occasionally, so I do understand your situation. I however, picked up a couple Sarongs while I was in Hawaii, which is a unisex type of skirt in their culture, as you are probably aware of. If anyone says anything I simply let them know about the culture and my trips to Hawaii and that's usually the end of the questions.

I just ordered a kaftin and am looking forward to wearing it to and from the shower on our next camping trip.

When I was in college living on a co-ed floor, some of the guys (and gals) wore robes, but most of us (guys and gals) just wore our towels wrapped around us. It's funny to me now, realizing that wrapping a towel around me like a skirt was perfectly ok but wearing a skirt would have been scandalous.

I usually wear a skirt around camp. My wife & I will often take walks around the campground with me wearing a skirt. I usually wear a skirt to & from bathhouse along with flip flops, sometimes with painted toes. So far, nobody has said anything.
