I wrote before about my hairdresser who keeps on talking about my earlobes. She doesn't understand why I have a complex of women who wear heavy cosmetic jewelry. I have had the same hairdresser for a long time, she pierced my first ear and then later in life her daughter took over the nails and piercings part of her business and her daughter pierced my second ear.
I usually get my hair cut early in the morning and nobody is there but yesterday with the later appointment everyone were there. At one point she called her daughter over and told her to look at my earlobes and the daughter told us it is a little strange because she sold me the diamond stud earrings that I have been wearing and never remembering me wearing anything else. The phone rang and the daughter was left alone with me and she told me that the diamond stud almost goes threw my earlobe. She then came really close to my ear and asked me if I had a dirty secret to tell her, we both started laughing and when she pulled away she said that I could tell her the dirty secret but she doesn't believe her old school mother will laugh at it. She gave me a "I don't want to know" comment and gave me a eye wink and walked away telling me I'm lucky her mother is naive. I can't believe my earlobes are giving me away and that her daughter is pretty down to earth about it. I guess we've known each other for so long I guess she thinks she knows me.

Great story, Sounds like they both have some pretty strong
suspicions there maybe be something more. :heehee:

Maybe yo need to go next time with some big dangly
earrings and remove all doubt. :heehee:

There are definitely times in life when people have a perception of something and almost no matter what changes about a thing, they still have the same perception. It's like a tree could turn into a car and person would still think it's a tree until the dang thing goes vrooom down the road. I think the hairdresser is in a similar state; she has a perception of you, and it's been the same for many years. You'd have to walk in completely en femme, dressed to the nines, with perfect hair and makeup to change it up. Even then, she'd probably perceive you as anything other than you until you told her who you are. Only then would her perception come flying apart and a new one set in :)

Sorry, maybe I'm naive or just ignorant but what about your ears is leading the daughter to suspect "something"?

Is she supposed to suspect your a crossdresser or something more?

My ears aren't pierced so this isn't something in my wheelhouse.

Yes they are tattle tales.
Mine do the same thing. Being double pierced I keep the diamonds in the uppers and most any style in the lowers. Over the years this has stretched my lobes a bit and I'm sure someone can tell why. No one has ever commented and I don't really care anymore.

Just to clarify, The hole are enlarged from wearing heavier earrings? Is that correct?

I can't wear 1/3 of earrings because stretch earlobe too much. Be sure to put a large back on the one that almost falls out. I use the clear plastic ones with a wide flange and change them out once a month as they get brittle and too hard to change.

On the same note I almost outed myself to her. As much as I try to fight getting older things just change and she told me my hair is thinning in the front and to maybe stop wearing baseball caps. I almost told her that I should maybe not wear my wigs as much. I quess if my earlobes don't give it away I might just do it myself.

Maria, You're lucky you have your ears pierced. I'd put up with off handed comments to have my ears pierced.

No, over time the lobe stretches and elongates.

Mine are double pierced. No one ever has associated that with anything other than at some time I got my ears pierced. Men have been wearing earrings, as men, for longer than I've been alive.
